"Ubisoft was one of the shining showcases at this year's E3, receiving plenty of praise from showfloor attendees and viewers over the internet, and for good reason too. The intriguing games that were shown off, in conjunction with their appearance at Nintendo's time of the stage, capped off a good show for the prominent game publisher. It was also noted that the Wii U was shown off quite a bit in their conference, and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has apparently stated the company's support for the console in a recent interview with Gamasutra, also telling us how "risky" it is..."
Hanzala from eXputer: "With Ubisoft's practices becoming increasingly anti-consumer lately, the destruction of The Sands of Time Remake looks almost inevitable."
Hey Ubi, here's a gun, don't shoot yourself in the foot.
*Ubi takes gun, aims at foot, empties clip*
Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
Hanzla from eXputer inquires: "If Xbox can care about preserving its games and legacy, what exactly is wrong with Nintendo, trying to kill game preservation single-handedly?"
Ahh yes the good old game preservation of saving all your games to a removable hhd on the Xbox 360, taking it round your mates house, setting up multiple tvs to
Be met with “save data corrupted, please re download”
Or how about removing 360 games
From the store
, download them now or else, and, better hope to god that save data doesn’t corrupt, or it’s lost for ever
Nice one ☝️
This is just a scammy PR move to distract from the fact they are going digital only and trying to push streaming and subscriptions only.
No gaming company has pushed harder to remove ownership than Microsoft.
Without discs there is no preservation, preservation can't be done by the rights holders it can only be done by the consumers, anything else is a lie.
Nobody wants this. Sales or the lack of it in the case of XBOX is very telling. I wonder how the adorably all digital series X will fare. Adorably dismal perhaps?
Only time will tell, but for from someone like me suspecting that Xbox is trying to gracefully exit the console market, that "forward compatibility" team is trying to get Xbox games playing on Windows PCs. I mean, it's nice that they're not planning on exiting with a "enjoy your games while the hardware still works" message, so that's nice. They still have a brand to protect via Microsoft so probably feel obligated to have a better exit strategy.
Not bad for a software only company. I'm so confused.
Look I kind of agree it's time for new systems but I also see a lot of potential in current ones. And UBI if tout up a great game even if it's a new IP it will sell the install bases are over 120 million combined for ps/xbox 360.
I think the earliest we will see new system into the market is 2014. They will announce next year at e3
I'm not a big fan of the Wii Us controller but I know that it will offer new ways to play games which is why I hope it doesn't become another GameCube or N64.
XperiaRay
If it brings quality games like Super-Nintendo games back in the day they won't go wrong.
First and foremost I need to get something off my chest....
I am a PS3 user, and Sony has been my 1st choice of console manufacturers...but I am extremely intrigued by the Wii U...I don't really care Wii U's rumoured to be only marginally more powerful than current gen.
..it just looks so dang sexy to me, and I'm growing tired of FPS's and overtly serious games.
I am starting to believe the Wii U could make games 'fun' again.....I'm starting to believe I will purchase the Wii U.
If you knew me as a gamer (COD, GOW3, Killzone, Red Dead Max Payne etc)...you might say STRANGE....strange times indeed!
I WANT THE WII U .....shit!! ...I've admitted it now lol
