By most accounts, the original Hyperdimension Neptunia was in need of a makeover. While sequels mk2 and Victory improved upon the 2011 original’s flaws, developer Felistella was busy remaking the combat system, rewriting the story, and improving the graphics and music.

Finally someone stands up and says no to censorship. It's high time more developers say no to these SJW lynch mobs trying to bully them into censoring their games. I am so tired of this assault on free speech by these whiny parasites.
I am having a blast with this remake so far. I believe I'm nearing the end of chapter 2, so I'm not that far along. It is definitely a step up from the original. However, I do miss the combo tree system, and the HDD transformations. Also, Neptune isn't rocking her shimapan anymore T^T
I find it so hypocritical that the original release was panned the heck out of by the critics but the remake is getting some awfully good scores for essentially being almost the same game with some new improvements.
The characters are the same, the story is the same, most of the gameplay is the same so why was the original hated so much but this not.
I was just so upset that the original got such a bad rap for being what it was. A over the top, very Japanese Jrpg. I just started the remake & i loved it now as i did when the original came out. If you love the Neptunia games you'll love the girls in this game as well.
One of the best HDN games that I have played so far. May not by totally original with many reused game assets, but it is very fun to play due to the improved storyline, funny dialogue, and the Remake System.
