An Interview With Curiosity Winner Bryan Henderson | Game Informer

It's been a whirlwind day for Peter Molyneux's new 22 Cans studio. Not only did the Curiosity experiment come to a close, but the developer has been thrust back into the spotlight. The prize at the center of the Curiosity cube went to Edinburgh resident Bryan Henderson. Game Informer got a chance to chat with him about his sudden fame.

This interview is hilarious, I'm sure the people who were really dedicated to the game and invested a lot of time in it are gonna be mad once they read this.

rainslacker3987d ago

LOL, that's hilarious. Young guy though. Does make me curious how Godus will be set up, and whether people will accept him as a "God".

FamilyGuy3987d ago

Wow...
one hour

lucky kid, really lucky.

Jovanian 3987d ago (Edited 3987d ago )

pfffftahaaha the god of 'Godus' is an atheist, this is so poetically ironic I can't help but laugh

anywho, that was a pretty lucky win by him. I bet it will be fun to be the god of the Godus game, whatever it is.

-Gespenst-3987d ago

Rrrrright. I mean does he even want to do this? Sounds like a lot of work and responsibility, and they're just forcing it on him. What does his job as God entail? Does he just configure global gameplay mechanics or something while people are playing? Is he like some sort of gamemaster / master server?

I mean it's life changing because now he's been forced to basically have a paid job haha. And what if Godus sucks? It looks alright I guess, but isn't it just some android game? Seems just like a glorified internet game or something.

It's also hilarious that he'd only been playing the game for an hour, and the video's all like "after all your efforts... we are finally here... behold."

The 10 Most Expensive Microtransactions And DLC In Games, Ever

From Xfire: "Remember when you'd buy a game and... that was it? You got the full experience by purchasing the full product one time. "

potedude1123d ago

Damn, Train Simulator is costing the big bucks. That game is kinda fun but not if you purchase all the DLC.

Relientk771123d ago

I will never understand why people pay for this crap.

Master of Unlocking1119d ago

"All the DLC - Train Simulator 2020, $10,145"

No wonder we're witnessing an increasing number of ports from PC to consoles, you can't nickel and dime PC owners with all their mods over there, lol

"Legatus Pack - Star Citizen $27,000"

Ouch!

Planet Calypso - Entropia Universe, $6,000,000

WTF...?!

Peter Molyneux's studio 22cans suffers layoffs

From GI.biz: "UK developer 22cans has suffered a round of redundancies, GamesIndustry.biz has learned.

The studio, founded by Fable creator Peter Molyneux, has laid off multiple employees, although an exact figure has not been disclosed.

A spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, due to a number of factors including projects reaching a certain stage in their development, we can confirm that a number of roles at 22cans have been made redundant."

Doesn’t that always happen with every studio lol? Contract workers for certain stages.

kythlyn1164d ago

I'm just surprised 22cans is still in business. They aren't communicating at all with their customers and they've abandoned their games in early access. Godus is still a mess that they're happy to keep selling without support. I kickstarted that game, and I have regrets.

Skywalker3331164d ago

Indeed, I was almost certain that they had closed down sometime ago :P

sourOG1164d ago

Wow that blows. I haven’t heard anything about them either, I just figured they were quietly working on something like ken Levine’s ghost story games.

Eamon1165d ago

Seriously, what is Peter Molyneux up to these days? In his prime, he was the most famous western developer in the world. Now he's doing f all.

njitram20001164d ago

If you look at the 22cans website...mobile games apparently

MasterChief36241164d ago

People became privy to his practice of promising big and delivering small. He is the perennial example of an artist that has huge ambition but not the resolve to follow through with those promises. I don't dislike him, as he has brought us some good games. But he is a constant punchline for me when I think of developers getting high and mighty.

Jericho13371164d ago

I saw an interview a few years ago saying he was inspired by the mobile gaming market and that anyone can become a “gamer”.

Such a shame, for all his critics he’s brought us some fantastic games and I’m sure he’d still be able to contribute something to the core gaming market.

lonewolf101164d ago

I'm surprised that they are still going to be honest.

fitofficial1164d ago (Edited 1164d ago )

They're not actually layoffs, they're fantastical multi-faceted journeys into lands of unimaginable unemployment giving the worker near-infinite freedom of choice.

Yes . Classic Peter Molyneux

Peter Molyneux's 22cans Worth Minus £1.2 million

Things aren't going well since the initial release of 22cans' GODUS. With a swathe of negative Steam reviews and some dubious $5 content unlock tactics with GODUS Wars, things seem to just get worse. That bleak outlook is emphasised when you see 22cans net worth is in the red.
