I Want Dark Souls II To Kill Me

CheatCC says: "From Software recently put Dark Souls II back in the spotlight with a fresh batch of screenshots, the new“Despair” trailer, and over ten minutes of gameplay footage complete with commentary from the one of the project’s directors. These tempting little tidbits have given us a better idea of what to expect when the game is finally released, but they’ve also stirred up some foreboding questions and maybes about the future of the Souls series, with the most prominent being, “Will it feel like Dark Souls?”"

Sweet mother of Gwyn, I take offense to that!

xabmol4021d ago

I just hope beating the game as a SL 1 is a bit more difficult next time.

It will make my early LvL trolling that much more satisfying. *evilgrin*

Kingscorpion19814021d ago

You don't have to worry about that. Be prepared to die a lot. :)

joab7774021d ago

Seein the edge article has me a bit worried. I normally wouldn't be but with all the recent streamling being done, I am concerned that it may be pushed out in an attempt to get a wider fan base.

Bimkoblerutso4021d ago

I was worried at first, but then I saw the demo and things seemed as tough as ever. Planning, careful timing, and good old fashioned skill still seemed to be the highlight of the combat system.

As far as I can tell, the "accessibility" they're incorporating into the game involves mainly a more in-depth opening section and some "ease-of-use" tweaks to item and covenant management.

TopDudeMan4021d ago

I dunno, I think it'd be nice if it were more accessible. #trollolol

Be carefull what you wish for. Or your controller will taste the wrath of Dark Souls :D

Why Monopolies In Gaming Must Not Be Allowed

As of right now, there are no monopolies in the games industry, and for the sake of the medium as a whole, they never should either.

thorstein7h ago

Shouldn't be allowed in any field.

Inverno3h ago

And yet the biggest tech companies in America are essentially that. They buy up all the small comps only to kill them off and steal what they have, and if they can't buy em they bleed them to death.

jwillj2k42h ago

Eventually they’ll realize the value is with the employee not the company. Buying an IP means nothing if the people who contributed are let go. They’ll get it one day.

MrCrimson1h ago

tech is different because they buy threats and then kill them. Twitter bought Vine and did nothing with it. Despite people seemingly liking it. Could've had tiktok a decade before bytedance. go figure.

Zenzuu2h ago

Monopolies shouldn't be allowed regardless. Not just for gaming.

MrCrimson1h ago

They buy IPs not talent. That's why these buyouts never work and the IPs die. Right now it's too expensive to develop games - but I expect that to shift maybe as AI tools can make it easier. The best games have been indie games for awhile as big developers fuck their ips to death with "games as a service" -

BG3 has won everything possible. It's insane.

TGG_overlord4d ago

That's right, well, BG3 deserved it imo.

anast4d ago

It's definitely a game of the generation if not all time.

InUrFoxHole4d ago
