Disney shuts down LucasArts. Sad day in gaming history

Lucasarts gave us The Old Republic MMO, so i'm happy to see them burn.

they also gave us Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, Grim Fandango, Indiana Jones: Fate of Atlantis, Day of the Tentacle, The Dig, Full Throttle, Sam & Max

I'd be curious to know how many of the employees involved in those projects were even around at this point.

Factually, LucasArts had very little to do with that beyond the license. In fact I think they pulled whatever support they had and left it to EA/Bioware.

I still want another battlefront game! Or at least give me an hd remake of the first two.

Join the club man I've wanted HD remakes of socom 1 & 2 for years and still no luck.

Considering assets from the game were found on resident evil: ORC, i think it's probably a good thing we don't have it. It doesn't seem like it was a high priority of lucasarts at the time. The pc version plays on most modest pc so there is that.

The Eidolon, Rescue on Fractalus, Ballblazer - on the C64/Atari XL, superb games.. and let's not forget their classic adventure games either..

Not sure why people are upset by this. The franchise isn't dead, just the company that clearly forgot how to use it.

As a huge fan of Star Wars, this is great news for the franchise. At least now there is a small chance for good SW games.

I don't know what Disney plans to do, but LucasArts has been irrelevant for years now.
