UE4 didn't wow me like UE3 back in 2005 maybe because Epic showed there next gen engine UE4 a bit late. i just hope they have fixed the Frame rate issues that UE3 had.

No, I think it's because our expectations are just too high for next-gen. The transition from SD-PS2 era to HD-PS3 is extremely significant. Now that HD has become the standard and the top-end PS3 games are utilizing PC-like post processing effects to make the game look the best we can, it's no surprise why one would not be "compelled" next-gen as they are literally doing the exact same things only with higher resolution textures/post-processing effects.

Again, your point of view may change as more games like Deep Down is played out in real time and ends up exactly like the video.

yea it was just OK at best to me i couldn't find anything that stood out in particular to have a conversation about

GuyThatPlaysGames4074d ago

Somehow I'm not impressed at all but then again I never was impressed with the Unreal Engine.

Tr10wn4074d ago

Frame rate issues??? never had FPS problems with UE3, and those saying they were never impress with UE3 they are either lying or are completely delusional, who wasn't impressed with Bioshock? look at Bioshock Infinite, Arkham series, Borderlands 2 and specially Star Wars 1313 yes that's UE3 not UE4

Donnieboi4074d ago

Dude look at your avatar. THAT is one amazing graphic engine Kojima produced. Compare Fox Engine to UE4. Then imagine Fox Engine bumbed up for next gen. The only game engines blowing my mind right now are Panta Rhei (Deep Down), Luminous Engine, and Fox Engine. I'm not even really all that impressed with CryEngine 3. Yeah it's pretty, but in terms of lighting, particles, water effects, realism, physics, facial expressions, hair, destructable environments, etc it just can't touch these other next gen engines.

starchild4074d ago

Lol Crysis 3 looks better than any next gen game we have been shown so far.

Realplaya4074d ago

Yeah I thought the same thing maybe we need a game in motion.

WarThunder4074d ago (Edited 4074d ago )

Meh... u can make these real time renders using Crysis Engine 3 and even Unity 4 .

DigitalAnalog4074d ago

But the UE4's engine is far more simplified and easy to work with. Not to mention it has a far more forgiving licensing rate.

UE is overrated and outdated.

ATi_Elite4074d ago

Unreal engine has been holding gaming back since like forever!

I'm just NOT a fan of the UE. sure it may be easy to use but it's graphics are Meh!

what they should buy are more servers and fix the terrible online connection of the game. Terrible.....

Silver_Faux1097d ago

It ain't that bad mate and you know it. The game is developed by a non AAA developer. Theremk1 is going to be issues but the actual gameplay is fantastic. PCF are being very transparent on their mistakes and how they are fixing them.
