Andrew Groen: ''On Wednesday evening, Sony will present a glamorous press briefing in New York City that is almost certain to be the debut of its next PlayStation home console.
New console announcements, by their nature, are full of promises. Some of them are relatively small things, and some sound impossibly grandiose. And veteran game industry followers know that it’s important to take each one of them with a grain of salt. In an effort to generate buzz for their new machine, companies will often resort to half-truths and outright lies to get consumers excited.
As we get ready for Sony’s big announcement, let’s take a look back at the promises it made in 2005 and 2006 prior to the launch of PlayStation 3, to find out how well they’ve held up over the ensuing eight years.''
Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.
Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.
It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny
Armored Core VI?
Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.
Is something big coming soon to branch the story?
No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
Totally agree with most of the article but the BIGGEST issue for me was the CGI they passed off as gameplay.
Killzone, Motorstorm and Eight Days with the UI slapped on it like the article says; it was an all out lie. People argue and say "oh but Killzone looks quite similar to what was shown" but that isn't the point. To be honest, I thought it was a bit insulting really.
But that's my biggest concern with the PS4 reveal; they misrepresent what the console is capable of. They have constantly done it in the past and I hope they don't do it now.
But the funny thing is, they don't need to! Just show us what the PS4 is capapble of doing by showing actual gameplay. I'm sure we will be impressed nonetheless.
This is the 3rd negative article in 12hrs by wired about Sony. Get ready for a steady stream of negative news from hater sites.
I actually liked the boomerang controller, why did they scrap?
Articles like these are pathetic. They are written by butthurt morons looking for a reason to b*tch about something because they can't stand the completely positive energy surrounding Sony recently in anticipation for the event tonight. Rather than just accept people are feeling good about something in gaming, which is very rare these days thanks to morons like the aforementioned butthurt variety, these Rhodes Scholars are trying to purposely shift the energy from positive to negative.
Take your negativity and shove it where it belongs. If you don't like people being happy about something, get some mental help and leave us alone.
