The War Z Drama; Zombie FPS Gets Released On Steam, Is Incomplete, Gets Bashed, Developers Respond

DSOGaming writes: "All hell has broken loose, as The War Z – a zombie survival game that has almost the same name with ArmA II’s free mod, DayZ – has been released on Steam. Now getting this massive coverage from all over the world would be a good thing for Hammerpoint, unless of course people started claiming they were a bunch of liars and copycats, that they are offering a game that is faulty advertised, and that they do not support features that were listed on the game’s Steam page. Which is basically what has happened so far, but let’s take things from the beginning."

This has been the most exciting thing that has happened in gaming in quite some time . I think i have eaten so much popcorn since this saga has been going on.... (exciting is prob not the right word hmm funny would be one)

Hardly exciting, inevitable with even a fraction of research. The branding and copycat aspect of WarZ is that of all the other copied games on the appstore etc.
If people were silly enough to buy into this when Dayz is clearly the superior with ongoing support, updates and a trusted developer, god help them.

It's definitely interesting. It's nice to see a game that clearly, CLEARLY lies about its gameplay, get what it has coming to it.

This video is for the devs. If you put out a game that's not even UNpolished and then on top of that screw over the consumer in other ways as in when they can play, you're gonna get in some hot water.

I also hear fraud isn't a good thing, either..?

Edit: I didn't embed the video because it started at the beginning of a playlist.

And I'm glad Valve was kind enough to refund everyone, great company.

Did Valve lose money or did Hammerpoint? That sucks if Hammerpoint didnt lose a single penny from the refunding on Steam.

Hated Games That Actually Had Some Neat Gameplay Mechanics

Let's face it, there are some hated games out there that are just complete trash. The developers responsible for these games usually have little clue about game balancing and their poor decisions usually leave their game to die in the dust.

However, sometimes a developer will make an absolutely terrible game that still has some admirable game mechanics.
