NowGamer: Is a secret Steam console in development at Valve? games™’s interview with Portal creator Kim Swift suggests there may well be.
Save the quarters and blast everything to oblivion at home!
Steam is changing its refund policy, but you probably won’t be affected
Should have happened a long time ago. People wanting refunds after 50 hours in game.
Daily reminder that 'TheGamer' is a corporate-generated, anti-gamer, anti-consumer, clickbait web site. They are mostly A.I. generated articles that villainize gamers. They provide nothing positive and actively try to provoke and divide the community through extreme view points and politics. Do not give them any clicks.
Only scumbags? As if people don't play their games on console put in the most amount of hours and return it to GameStop and trade it in for another game. But also how many people are actually do this? And what games have been allowed to be refunded?
Blindfolding myself and clicking a Steam page at random would serve me better recommendations than Steam’s algorithm
Hmm, not sure I agree with that. The recommendations I get are usually pretty good, but then again I have pretty large library of games on Steam and hundreds of them in my wish list, along with lots of curators I follow for it to build recommendations off of. On occasion it will throw me a random FIFA game or something I've never bought or shown interest in, but mostly its decent IMO.
I'm fully expecting Valve to launch their steambox console (however, I don't know when).
I think it would have been a great idea, but they did deny it.
i think working with a console will be much more beneficial. Everyone who has a pc has steam. Console owners feel very comfortable with their consoles. So, u would b a 4th option at best. And how does it work? Are the games settings based on ur pc? If so, this would be great for next gen consoles. It simply broadens the base. It is different than onlive etc. because it uses the hardware to determine quality.
Unless the steam box is gonna offer something new, it would b a big risk for a company with little overhead right now. They can still strike a deal with playstation as steam is much different than onlive etc., as mentioned above. Though, if i am microsoft or sony, i create my own steam linked to xbl and psn and its stats and friends.
I don't think it's the time yet probably after ps4 generation then it would work then I just think internet will be alot faster in 5 years time and this would need a faster connection for downloading massive games like mp3 for example 35gb that's big and future games are going to be alot bigger than that.
I don't see the point of a Steam Console. Just build a PC instead.
