It's funny that PS3 fanboys were reduced to the so-called "360 fanboy argument" of sales after Gran Turismo 5 flopped in reviews.

Halo 3 [94] - 11.5 million
Uncharted 2 [96] - 4.5 million

Which game is better? Halo 3 with its superior sales or Uncharted 2 with its superior reviews?

Gran Turismo 5 [84] - 6.5 million
Forza Motorsport 3 [92] - 5 million

Now which game is better? GT5 with its superio...

Let's see how the past ones did so that we have a better idea of how these future releases might do.

Gears 1 looked better than Resistance 1, Gears 2 looked better than Resistance 2... why would you expect Resistance 3 to look better than Gears 3? Those screenshots certainly couldn't lead you to believe that.

They're both exclusive shooters on directly competing console releasing a couple weeks apart.

Killzone 2 reached 1 million sales in its second week, versus Killzone 3 which reached 1 million on its fourth week. And the PS3 install base is 30 million stronger now than it was at Killzone 2's release. Any way you cut it, Killzone 3's performance looks pretty terrible. I don't know how even the biggest PS3 fanboys could deny that.

Based on these numbers, I don't know how Killzone 3 could ever reach Killzone 2's 2.6 million sales, let alone pass it.

Microsoft publishes the Halo games. Sony does not publish the Metal Gear Solid series.

I bet you peed your pants laughing when someone predicted Final Fantasy XIII would go multiplatform as well. Oh, I can't wait for the delicious tears!

What a tough choice. Go where everyone "blindly follows Microsoft" or stay at the laughing stock of the Internet, N4G, where everyone blindly supports the last place console to the point of complete and utter delusion. I choose to stay here for the laughs!

@malandra

"The reason here is fairly straightforward: while Crysis 2 runs at 1152x720 resolution on the Microsoft platform, PS3 operates at a base resolution of 1024x720."

"In short, then, Xbox 360 benefits from a 12.5 per cent resolution boost over the PlayStation 3 version of the game. While it is true that the action generally looks clearer and not quite so blurred on the Xbox 360"

"More resolution is obviously a g...

@zootang "Maybe because the majority of gamers prefer the PS3?"

Wow! I've never heard that one before. As you must know, there are more 360 gamers than PS3 gamers. Then take the number of PS3 gamers who are rabid Sony fanboys and you have a very small number. Yet they are 90% of N4G. Rabid deranged PS3 fanboys. There is not a single other gaming site on the Internet that is as one-sided as N4G, aside from sites dedicated to only one console. If there is, please ...

It does! The resolution and framerate are both higher!

GTA IV is the highest rated game in the series so hopefully not.

I don't believe it could get much more ambitious than GTA IV. That game is on a whole other level presentation-wise.

90% of game releases on the PS3 and Xbox 360 are multiplatform, and by now everyone should know that if they want the superior version of multiplatform games, they will have to get the 360 version. There are no excuses.

Not true at all. A mandatory install of the PS3 version will help it run ALMOST as well as the uninstalled 360 version. Look at Crysis 2. We already know it runs poorly on the PS3. It's not like they're both starting from the same point, and then the PS3 version is ahead with the install. The PS3 version starts far behind the 360 version, and it needs the install just to be even with the 360 version.

But the key here is that the game must be installed to run decently on the PS3, while that's not the case on the 360. The installed PS3 version will run worse than the uninstalled 360 version.

And yet the 360 versions of these multiplatform games that you have to install on the PS3 STILL run better on the 360. So you're installing the PS3 version just for it to run ALMOST as good as the 360 version!
