I agree that the 2 will co-exist. The whole reason is that DRM will keep people from owning what they buy via DD so no matter how you look at it you can only rent. DD is not a threat to Blu-ray in any way, but Blockbuster and the local video rental stores better watch their asses.
well thats pretty nice of them but it seems pretty worthless too. I mean who the hell is going to hang on to their players or if they do why would you buy a movie that can only be played on something you jammed in the back of the closet.
Its good that they aren't being shy about it being over. The average person needs to know that they aren't going to be burnt by buying into blu-ray. If no ones tells them it'll take forever for the final transition to happen.

I just don't see what the point of all this is. They do all this work trying to hack the PS3 but they will most likely be put back to zero once the next update comes or at least won't ever be able to play online. Theres also the fact that we're talking about games that are 20-50 gigs so your going to end up spending a lot of money to have several external drives and I may be wrong but isn't the point not to spend money?

I thought at this point everyone knew that MS stuffed the hell out of retail channels last year to meet their 10 mill goal. So it isn't surprising that they shipped fewer units in 07 than 06 since they had over 2 million unsold units shipped at the beginning of the year (evident by the fact that they only shipped around 1 million WW in the following 6 months). considering sony owns music companies, movie studios, and a tv production company there is no way they won't include a DL service for these things in the near future.

oh, come on. There is no way a figure that high could possible be true. If it were then there would be no way DS software would sell and there are always a half dozen or more titles in the top 30 for the US each week.

2 was the dumbed down piece of crap and 3 was the hard one(my fav) but I found 1 to be pretty easy, not like retarded easy but not one of the hardest I've played.
While I don't doubt for a second that some PS3s fail (no electronic device is without a faulty unit here and there), I don't think this is real. The clicking noise that would suggest a HDD failure is present even before he turned the unit on. That leads me to believe this one is a fake.

EA needs to be stopped. Any one with half a brain can see that they are trying to make sure that next gen they can make a console and have most decent devs under their thumb and leave sony and MS with little better than 1st party. After 25 years of gaming, this gen may be my last.
