this can't possible be true. I just doubt there is enough hardware in the market to allow sales like that without every single unit being sold, and I've seen more than enough PS3s and 360s last week to know that they didn't sell out.
won't be to surprised if europes numbers are high. I hear singstar is pretty big there.
I wouldn't say sony appreciates what GameSpot has done. Every company tries to turn controversy into cash because people eat crap like this up. Gamespot in all likelyhood is getting more hits now because 1, people are waiting for them to respond to this mess and 2 people are going to want to see their next set of reviews to find fault in the scores. Anywhere people are going to be (be it for good or bad reasons) can be a good place to increase exposure. On top of everything its not like Sony ...
I'm pretty sure gamespot, cnet, and metacritic are all part of the same company. I would try to have them kicked from other places such as gamerankings.

it won't matter who's games they rate higher anymore. every avid gamer already knows they are not to be trusted. I think right now pepsi, dell, and sony are just trying to cash in on cheap ad space.
Kinda my thoughts on it too. Even after toshiba lowered the price to $199, blu-ray gained market share. So this all seems like a wasted effort to me.

The hike in sony stock is due to many things not just PS3 (but it is a part). Blu-ray is gaining more market share, HDTV sales should have been up due to holiday shopping, and BMG just droped some very well selling CDs. I would be willing to bet the drop in MS stock is due to Vista if anything.

I believe that its MS that'll be caught with their pants down. Sony isn't disputing the 360s numbers but MS is trying to act like they already know how many PS3s sold without any access to those numbers.
I wouldn't be shocked to see the PS3 close to 100k or higher in japan on the 13th when prologue drops
They did it because if they used world wide figures (or even correct NA figures for that fact) and stated that people are excited in all 3 regions for this game it would really make their story look stupid as hell.

I say that since everyone counts GRAW 1 as exclusive because they are all different then PSP doesn't count. PSP games are NEVER the same as their console counterparts.

I don't see how they can say these are shopped. If you take a good look at those shots you can see the imperfections. If sony was going to doctor up some shots they could do a way better job and like you said MK we've already seen videos that look better.
