I agree.
How could selling a game be a "slap in the face?"
It's not as though this came out on PS3 last week and then they sprung this on us in an attempt to get the same consumer buy the same game in the same month. This was announced ages ago...this is a very different, new, platform.
People act so damn entitled these days, it's sickening.
What do you imagine the world owes you?
One of the best AAA game dev teams spent ages making the best version ever of many people's "game of the generation"...no small feat since the hardware is totally different.
The intended audience? New adopters and super fans that want the best version.
Those people pay happily...yet you feel ripped off?
Why? You're not buying it.
This world is really ...
Lack of effective marketing? 100%
However, games have never really been lacking. Notably, it had a super strong launch.
These days, though, admittedly it's 'indie' heavy. I don't mind, but some do.
Still, even I hope for renewed AAA first party support.
Yeah...EA makes it so hard not to hate them.
I love my Vita too.
Not saying "mobile" is without value, but for gaming I'll take my Vita and 3DS over a "mobile" device ANY day.
Because it relates to a game?
Is there a connection between your willful ignorance of the obvious connection and your out-of-place hyper defensiveness of a "news" outlet who's bread and butter is people who are habitually willfully ignorant?
The tlou 2, assuming it will be made, will look WAY better. The first one is being enhanced, but is still a cross-gen game.
Besides, every single game ND releases surpasses the last one graphically, that will continue.
Awesome
Hey, he don't let nobody critique his work. You hear? Nobody!
;)
Most people who have seen the trailer...or played it for 5 minutes.
Let's wait till review it till it's actually out.
Man...soon gaming sites are going to assign scores to games the day they are announced. "The title, coupled with the launch window indicates shallow and repetitive gameplay. 5.5/10"
I absolutely adored DMC, personally.
It may not satisfy series faithfuls, but taken as it's own thing, it's super awesome.
Yeah, I saw Indie Game The Movie after the hype surrounding his insanity. I thought "surprising this guy put together such an awesome game, he seems to not have his stuff together in general."
Then I actually played Fez...
Imo, most overrated game I've played. Ok the art style is nice, and there's a zen-like simplicity to the core gameplay, but man imo, it tries way too hard to be some clever complex game.
I urge no one her...
That said, ICE team is unparalled, the Frostbite team frequently underperforms on the same hardware as their peers.
Removal of agency is a very common practice in games and completely acceptable when done properly.
Example of it done well: Uncharted cutscene
Example of it done horribly: Call of Duty Ghosts when every 10 minutes you find your self suddenly unable to point a gun straight and kill a villain character during a brief "window of opportunity", or stumbling almost in slow motion through a set piece, barely surviving, yet during the rest of the game, you&...
It's at this time,I wish I had, handy, quotes from some lunatics around here that were claiming that the Ouya was "guaranteed to outsell ps4 and xb1."
I agree, but it's also about graphics.
Then some PC guy says "if you cared about graphics you'd get a PC."
Ignoring the fact that such a statement only makes any sense in a world where exclusives don't exist...it also assumes that if you say "graphics matter" that you mean "only graphics matter."
It's like telling someone who prefers a 6 cylinder Honda Civic over a 4 cylinder "if you cared at...
Ideal sequel for me would be a similar story with Ellie now old, responsible for someone younger. So much material there on an emotional level.
I agree. What's there to worry about? You either like story driven tps action games or you don't.
Naughty Dog has said they have figured out advanced rendering techniques that will extend far beyond UC 4 thanks to the ICE team. Will the LOD in a high action scene match this per/character? No, but based on their track record, I trust Naughty Dog infinitely more than skeptical internet commenters.
I could not agree more. This kind of garbage is starting to seriously ruin gaming journalism.
