The vast majority of console games were not 1080p 4x MSAA with the settings cranked at 60 fps, they were sub 900p-1080p 30 fps with PC equivalent settings from low to high in most cases which usually resulted in crappy image quality. There is plenty of pro players that use high refresh 1080p panels, it’s not like 1080p is blurry assuming your using a decent AA solution.
This comment is ridiculous, there is nothing on the market that size that can push UHD-4k in a form factor like this, the GPD Win 3, Gx1 PRO and Aya Neo are the highest end handhelds in the market for AAA gaming and at best are suited for 1080p with settings turned up depending on the game with the cheapest model starting around $800 US.
The only mid gen console upgrades with large spec bumps were the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, why would you assume Nintendo would do something like that when they’ve never done that? This is right in line with all their updated console models, it has nothing to do with defending the company and more in line with keeping expectations in check lol.

Yeah and you can play it without ever playing in your hands on a television, it also is faster than the a Wii-U, 360 and PS3 home consoles and plays full AAA games on it. Doesn’t matter what you call it, it fills two categories.

What handheld gaming systems have a HDMI and Cooling fan? It's a hybrid system, the Wii-U was a home console but the Switch had the overall better version of games like Botw and Mario Kart 8, either way it's not like people expected it do this well regardless of what you classify it as.
