Formula One is a phenomenal sport. The game, not so much. Weird game mechanics, missing features(Safety Car being the biggest) and lots of bugs. I don't think even a huge patch can fix half of the problems this game has. For a first try, it's not too bad, just a bit underwhelming for those of us who've been waiting for nearly a decade for a proper F1 game.
Hmm...I really don't see much of an improvement in terms of graphics. But Dragon Age was never really about good graphics. It was the gameplay and storytelling that made it great.
The gameplay here looks a little bit different, but it looks like it still needs a lot of work.
It's not about who was in front or back. The problem was that the AI was posting an impossible time on the very first lap. The AI can't possibly be over 6 seconds faster on the opening lap than the player in that video.
Even Codemasters themselves admitted that the AI cars were there for visual purposes only, and that the AI lap times were more or less pre-determined by the game itself and not a proper timer like the player has. Go and have a look at their forums. No ...
I guess most people got fooled by the shiny visuals. I certainly was. Didn't even know there was no safety car, for the first two days. Lots and lots of bugs and/or inconsistencies with a real F1 race, on closer inspection. Codemasters are gonna have to do a LOT better than this for the next game to convince me to buy it.
Didn't know about this. But I found it quite strange that in a very-damp track that still needed an intermediate-tyre for me, the AI was already posting dry-track lap times(ones that you'd only get using slick-tyres), and when I went out on-track all of them were still wearing intermediate-tyres. It was a big WTF for me.
This explains everything. Quite disappointing really. It's these kind of things that take away the magic from the overall experience. And without...
Agreed. Whose "bright" idea was it to call a game where the ball spends 95% of the time in the players' hands as "football"? Must be one dumb yank.
I don't see anything wrong whatsoever with benchmarking.
Any new IPs confirmed for 2011? I don't mind sequels, but it seems that's all we ever get nowadays, sequel after sequel. It seems no big developer/publisher is keen on taking a chance with a new IP. Instead, they'd rather continue an already existing franchise and milk it to death.
Not surprising about F1 2010 dominating this week. Some people, especially those from NA, tend to forget that F1 is the most popular motosport brand in the world. I'm pretty sure it'll still be there in the top 5 next week.
I could care less about the 3D part. The game had better not suck, with or without 3D.
It's an 8/10 for me. I would've given it a 9/10 if it wasn't for the nasty pit-stop bug. And no, the suggestions provided by Codemasters were not that helpful. We need a patch for it quickly.
OMG! Rewrite your dictionaries. The term "tough guy" has been re-defined as a "malnutritioned, emo crack-hoe".
As much as I'd love to see Activision getting 'served', I just don't see it happening anytime soon.
I do agree with the 'button-mashing'. It's unnecessary & annoying.
Yeah. Looks like his husband beat him up for being a crack-hoe.
Also, Tokio Hotel comes to mind. EWWW!
I just can't see this game doing 5+ mil sales, even if multiplatform. Considering the mostly-negative feedback over the tranny-Dante alone, I'd be very surprised if it does 3½ mil or more, and even that's being overly positive about it.
There's a rather big chance that Crapcom are gonna rue their decision to "shock" us with the reboot, as we all know, "shocking" doesn't always equate to "success".
"I...
I sincerely hope this version of Dante is a one-off only, and not an long-term plan. Otherwise Crapcom risk losing more money like they're doing now. If anything, they should've rebooted Resident Evil instead of DMC, as this was totally unnecessary.
I find it relatively easy to follow the concept if you pay full attention to what's going on the big screen. So far, the only people I know that are confused are chatterboxes or those that have the attention span of a gnat.
WOW! I never thought he'd be into making games. But count me in if he's personally overseeing the project. He's undoubtedly one of the current best working directors and I'd be extremely excited to play a game based on the idea of Inception.
However, he might be too busy as he himself said he only concentrates on one project at a time. Since he's doing Batman 3 and overseeing the production of the Superman reboot, he might not have time to personally helm...
I regretted buying BC2, not because I didn't like the game per se, but because of the horrible support(if you can even call it "support") EA had given it. Calling a couple of re-arranged maps(already present on the disc) "free DLC" and charging for any content that is remotely even new is definitely not what I'd call a good support.
So here's a big "F**K YOU" to EA, and also DICE for being little wimpbags.
