That is why I had to write this article, promoting the fact that the company that owned, and the new company that owns the rights now, are ready and willing to work with fans to keep these games alive and well on new platforms.
I never played Powermonger, though I wanted to. How was it compared to Populous?
Good list. I will probably do a more broad reboot article including games by other companies rather than just Sega's. It is amazing that so many great IP's owned by Sega simply died in the 16-Bit era. Just a quarter of those appearing on the Saturn in continued 2D dominance could have helped turn the tide at least a little bit.
Was Wirehead released on 3DO?
I wholeheartedly agree. I am working on more articles on FMV games.
Prize Fighter was the best FMV game in my opinion. It just worked so well.
@2Pacalypsenow Sorry, sometimes I miss sarcasm via text.
The game still sucks, no matter the language.
Came to make this exact same comment. Nice to know I am not alone in remembering Polygon Man, even though he sucked (financially for Sony and in general).
Actually, no. The developer uses the ad revenue to purchase Bitcoin and shares that with you. There is no mining on your hardware (the payouts would be a lot less if it was so).
It is a gallery of shots. As @Eidolon mentioned, click it and you will see the others. Thanks for reading!
What other Android games do you think would be good to play on PC?
There are a few Android emulators, even forks for Android to run on X86 processors.
@Ninsigma If done from day one with a console, unlike what @hvd222 is saying, then it would not leave out the "day one supporters" or those with the "older" version. That is why I worded the question like I did- the next console generation. To attempt to do that now would definitely fragment the market- much like what Sony is probably going to do with the Neo.
True. New boxes every few years is a method of keeping the product in consumers eyes via marketing and also renews shelf space at retail locations.
It remains to be seen if any console manufacturer will offer modular upgrades in the future. It just makes sense though as so many components are simply replicated each generation (disk drive, hard drives, controller ports, etc). Why not cut those costs out with upgrades that make sense?
Very good points there. I didn't think of the "all in one" upgrade like you mentioned, that would make a lot of sense for console upgrades in the future. It would, as you said, make the base unit last longer. This would allow costs to drop on that hardware, maximizing profits for the company and reduce costs at the same time with each upgrade (no need to reproduce the disk drive, network adapter, controller ports, etc).
What sham?
Microsoft offers, or at least did offer, Bitcoin use on the Windows Phones Store and on Windows 10 store. They were one of the first big companies to recognize Bitcoin.
You may want to check our site out for the historical article on the Game Boy Color version re-release which was released on the same day, just a few years later. I wonder if they planned it that way?
