I hate to sound like a troll, but my experience using Xbox 360 as a MC extender from Vista has been extremely poor. WMV videos and WMAs won't play most (but not *all*) of the time -- yet the Network test says everything's perfect. The same WMVs and WMAs play perfectly over the same network when using the sharing and playback feature of Windows Media Player 11 (via a PC). The firewall is set to allow Media Center Extender through. I've got the latest June 2008 Vista MCE patches, but 'meh' -- t...
Can't wait to get it in English.
Great idea.
Her Def Leppard comment was as tasteless as she realized it was just after she said it. LOL
No update to Folding@Home is available to me here in the U.S., even after updating to Firmware 2.4.3. :-(
Has anyone in the US been able to DL LWPS?
for viewing TV on the PS3. There's a program guide (currently, in the US only) and all your TV channels appear right in the PS3's XMB -- assuming you have a TV tuner card in your "Orb'ed" PC. Playback quality is great* (*depending on your network connection speed, of course) as long as you do NOT try to watch TV through the PS3's sucky Web browser. (It works, but the frame rate is s-l-o-w.) From the XMB, the frame rate and quality's great, especially if you switch codecs from the su...
I haven't seen any reviews comparing the Asia and Japan releases, other than one that mentioned that the Hakuna Matata (Asian) version has two pages of English text in the manual. Apparently neither has speaking. Play-Asia.com (where you can order either one) says that the Asian version is in Japanese, so I'm confused -- are they both 95% Japanese?
I want to buy an English-language version of this game, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will never officially appear in the U.S., due to that nation's apparently unending fascination with the FPS genre. Has Sony ever committed to releasing it in the U.S., or are we believing this Dec 30 date because GameStop says so? Has anyone seen any English language reviews of the full product?
[redundant comment about how this discount can be stacked with Edge card removed]
could be a big hit with the WebKinz crowd. Don't underestimate the size of that kiddie market. It's huge.
It's very encouraging to see that most of the captions and section titles are in English. Can anyone confirm that the other sections may be set to English as well? My kids will love this game.
...I could watch YouTube videos on my PS3 before, and TVersity could already do the UPnP Media Streaming, as could Windows Media Player 11, etc., etc. Wake me up when an app that actually does something new is available -- like NetFlix on Demand from my PS3.
...or at least has an English soundtrack. I will be pissed if this game is available for the Asian market only. (With that said, I've been please with Play-Asia's service to date....)
I enjoy variety (and great graphics!) in my PS3 games, and the clips I've seen so far from this one look beautiful.
This is just more manufactured controversy -- in other words, BS from a relentless self-promoter.
I guess you really have to like that whole "die, you scum! Kill, kill, kill!" thing more than I do. But then, I'm not an American, and it seems that you American guys just LOVE your guns. And blood. Bang, bang bang, you're all dead. Whee!
I tried the analog controls and, I have to say, I still prefer the motion controls. Now that the "dash" Sixaxis motion has been eliminated (it's now *only* a button on the d-pad), the motion scheme works much better (and practice helps too, of course). As the article notes, the 180-degree turn is now much easier to execute. I never really understood why everyone hated Lair so much. Beautiful graphics, great music, interesting story, and a fairly innovative (and fun) control method. ...
The new dragons (which you can access from the Stable in any level) are cool looking and in fact, work better than the original dragon in the optional "first person view." I don't care for the analog controls, but those who hated the Sixaxis controls (which really just takes a bit of practice to master) might like this new option. Rumble is very nice, especially when you are doing takedowns. Note that you have to do the (free) update via the store to get the dragons -- the in-game a...
Does the Nyko footswitch allow the official Rock Band guitar to work in Guitar Hero (and/or vice versa)?
If so, I eagerly await the first teardown and homebrew circuit posting.
According to Andrew Rudson, the guy behind the Rock Band drum hack for PC....

Imagine a PS3N that had only a big hard drive (say 160 GB or more) and an external jack for an optional blu-ray add-on drive. It would be priced at US$199 or less, would come with a PSN coupon for a couple of games (say WipeOut or Burnout Paradise, and Flower or some other "family-friendly" graphical dazzler that puts the XBox's limited arcade selection to shame) and if you want blu-ray (or disc-based games), you just buy the $149 add-on. The main unit would be smaller, quieter and ...
