It is still a new idea. A few games does not make it a standard practice and the question i asked has still not been even attempted to answered.

Are you guys trying to be funny or are you deliberately misunderstanding my question. Of course everyone knows Sony has servers. The question asked is will they provide them to EA for free? EA Doesn't have to pay for this on MS side so why should they pay on Sony side?

Strange thought, but how about they finish the game and test it on xblive before they start thinking about PS4 ports. It is something of a new idea for a console game, being only online. I am sure there will be a ton of glitches and lag they are going only be able to figure out during game play. As for PS4 they will have they same opportunity they had in the beginning, provide servers and they will get the game. Only difference is now EA will most likely want the servers for free.

Majority of companies only see money from original sale of stock. After that it is only the stockholders who see profit on sale of stock. It is a nice way though for officers of the company to get paid more by getting shares instead of taxable cash.

1. The price of the game
2. The amount of time you have to spend to complete a game
3. If not for reviews how many more people would have purchased Aliens:Colonial Marines?

The X1 only uses encryption for media functions not games so you can video capture. And this is only important to people that like to post walk-throughs on YouTube. As highlights of game play are baked into both consoles.

The thing is Major Nelson may issues with Xbone, but who knows how Steve Ballmer feels about it? It was Nelson's personal opinion not MS corporate stance on the whole xbone thing.

In the simplest terms MS will have more servers available than Sony. MS owns the servers so they can charge developers what they want to. They have complete access to these servers and can spin up virtual ones depending on the demand. If only 100 people playing then only enough servers for them, if a million players in a game then enough for them. SONY just doesn't have the infrastructure to really be competitive on this front. Gaikai may help, but Openstack is going to want to make a pro...

It is the same base cpu as ps4. So maximum for both is 2.7Ghz. The cpu on X1 is not overclocked. It wont be overclocked until it goes faster than recommended specs.

So much in one quarter, remember xbox division is not just xbox. They threw zune and windows phone. So what ever profits from xbox were cycled back into launching other products.

What brings them the biggest return on their investment is a short term proposition. If they do not pursue a windows on every screen strategy windows will become obsolete. Look at how they struggle to gain market share in the mobile phone area. After a two year gap when Iphone came out MS dropped to less than 3% market share. With the strategy proposed they would stop selling all devices and limit windows to PC's. It will lead to the eventual end of the company as a major software produce...

They are totally discounting that Xbox is the only product that MS sells that regular people want to buy. How long will windows be relevant when most people are running to tablets and smart phones. Basic of economics, you have to build new revenue streams as your business ages or you will eventually go out of business. Something new will always come along to make your core cash business obsolete.

Quote from industry insider on why MS is not talking about their superior gpu

Parasite76: Well, now that is out of the way.
Having lunch with my friend this today was especially gratifying because he was talking more free about whats happening behind the scenes whithout much hesitation. I think MS is starting to loosen up the security on X1 since we are near to hot chips reveal. here is some info I learned today.

the memory system in x1 is much better...

Sony had plenty of weaponry of its own to unleash, most notably the announcement of a clever trade-up scheme that'll let buyers of this year's PS3 mega-franchises like Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Watch Dogs trade them for a digital-download PS4 copy for a "significantly discounted price" once the PS4 versions appear.

This led IGN commenter StealthPeasant to ask: "What about just waiting until these games launch and save $10? I really don'...

From article:

"Inside the console, Microsoft gave two of the four 'Memory Move Engines' the capability to process zip and LZ, memory compression formats that are used in streaming data. "Microsoft has such interest in compressing data that it has dedicated silicon to the job instead of leaving it to the CPU," writes Digital Foundry."

And as for internet speeds FIOS now offer 500Mbs/150Mbs. And that will only increase in time.
