Capitalism is all well and good, but I always thought that companies that make games should at least be partially driven by the desire to make great games.
We have no right to ask it of them, but it would be awesome if they would release their IP's so more interested parties can keep them alive.
They'll come to that conclusion eventually, but they'll act like it's some big breakthrough.
The writer must have been living under a rock. This is the same Half Life remake that's been in development for 10 years.
Yeah, mark payouts will be doubled and they'll start giving out legendary weapon rewards.
I think a legal problem with donating to a modder is you're basically paying them for all the work they do, but that mean that they are benefiting off of every game they've modded for.
They would need approval from every publisher who's games they've modded.
There are way to many sticking points for it to work. I'm glad they shut it down as quick as they did. I was prepared never to go to the workshop again.
Even if they jump through every legal loophole I'm assuming Valve and the Devs will be getting a cut of the profit. At that point don't the mods become DLC and modders free labor?
Yes, they're are multiple issues I see.
Can you charge for a re-skin of an in game item? You didn't create the model.
Can you charge for a Star Wars lightsaber mod? Not your IP.
Charging for your mod puts you in competition with IP's owner. Especially if most of what they're selling is cosmetic.
How would that be legal? Since they would be benefiting off of someone else's IP.
Yeah, when it released yesterday the only servers I could get into were Hell on Earth difficulty @_@
Joe's video did come off really whiny, but it doesn't change the fact that Nintendo seems totally uninterested in the gamer community.
Nintendo takes a 40% cut, so I imagine it comes down to whether or not it's worth the time to do so.
The problem with over using the term sexist is that sooner or later it becomes no big deal.
Sexist could apply to anything that is targeted at only one gender.
The only people practicing poor form are the ones exposing us to their toxic lack of humor.
Dhova-kid?
Awesome, this works great.
Queen's wrath will be coming back with House of Wolves. I think it was always intended to link to the those missions.
The state it was in when they originally had the queens wrath shows how unplanned their DLC cuts were.
I'm contributing, and I hope they get funded the rest of the way.
I miss the old style corridor shooters.
When I found out the next expansion wasn't coming out till May I figured it was a good time for a break to play some other stuff.
Can anyone tell me if any of the $120 of DLC is anything other than cosmetic bullshit?
Is it really such a big deal? If you want a skin you can pay for the one you like, and leave the rest.
Yeah, I already had my Destiny Season pass, but when I saw Witcher III was 20% off I jumped on it.
