I think they captured the essence of what the original Doom was. ID's SP campaigns have been really on point lately.

The person that got the original pulled complained because:

1. It didn't fit her playful character.
2. It made her look too sexual.

Hey one out of two ain't bad, right?

I'd like to go on but your're out of bubbles. Thanks for the interesting convo.

I think of your site as one of the good ones.

Sorry Pixex I know your're out of bubbles...

You're reply about Crysis's characters just proves the point. Had you known nothing about the character already, seeing the image would have left you clueless about the character or his personality.

Had you known nothing about Widowmaker/Tracer already would you have been alright with one of them taking the pose, or neither?

Looking good, being fit, or a graceful form =/= objectificati...

Posing looking over your shoulder is a fairly well established hero trope in games, and promotion for movies.

Crysis 2's promotion did it a lot.

Does this image tell you anything about this character's personality?

Pixelgate, you say there are two sides and both are wrong to a degree, but as I see it only one side is willing to leave well-enough alone and let developers do as they please, and not pass moral judgement on their creations.

I personally don't find the debate to be toxic. It's just the nature of arguments on the internet. At the end of the day there may be some bruised egos, and hurt feelings, but no blood is spilt.

You say that, but she makes almost the exact same pose at the end of the reveal trailer.

How exactly is looking over your shoulder outside of anyone's personality?

This exclusivity deal is rather tame compared to Destiny's. You weren't missing much with the strikes, but the guns they withheld were some of the best in the game and they had to wait a year for them. For a looter shooter it matters more then you'd think.

I'm converted. This is what VR was meant to be.

Not a dig at Oculus though. They deserve all the credit for getting the ball rolling.

I don't really associate WWI with action set pieces. Most of the imagery that comes to mind is barbed wire, mud trenches, poison gas, and stupid charges against machine gun nests.

Nice, kind of wish I'd funded now.

It probably hurts a little bit for people who funded Occulus's kickstarter to be priced out of early adoption, but in reality all these price points are completely justified.

I remember when my dad brought home our first home PC that cost 4,000 dollars. By today's standards I wouldn't be able to pay someone to take it.

If you have trouble empathizing with characters who aren't of your race, gender, or persuasion...maybe you're the one with a problem. I'm sure plenty of women had no trouble with Link up till now.

See what happened? They created a new massively successful IP, and they didn't have to ret-con an already established franchise to do it.

Watching the Beta has given me more hope for the game. Looks much better than what the Alpha screens led you to believe, even on XB-One.

Kind of a strange question since there are many games that don't, on the other side there will always be a market for game that do.

Hopefully it won't be another ID game where if you turn around too fast you'll get to see all the textures loading in.

I'm sure his statement is in relation to how much the custom components cost versus how much they're asking for it. That being said it has pushed me out of early adopting.

I think they knew it was always going to be a slow start for VR.

It's gotta be hard with a release date set in stone from the start of development. The release had to coincide with the movie.

It's a game to be enjoyed in moderation, when you need a Star Wars fix.
