Say what you want about Sony's conference but what is apparent to anyone with a single active brain cell is that the PS4 is a "Developers Console".
Devs are overjoyed with the thing. No more Cell to cripple development, shoddy PC ports, crappy multiplats. No more of that.
No more 1 year headstart, inferior online setup, crazy high console price.

Kotaku's credibility is questionable at best so i would completely understand Sony and other console fans scepticism of this information.
Its a gimmick to sell the game for both EA and MS.
I remember buying the headset with Socom 2 on PS2 and i rarely used that. Shouting out commands gets old and its much more effective to simply push a button where you get instant response whereas voice commands has that margin of error. Can't imagine playing this game in a crowded lounge with kids running up and down yelling at the top of their lungs when you have the voice command feature going.
The absolute worse thing Sony can do now is to confuse the customer's with 100 features on a system.
The reason people bought PS1's and PS2's in droves was the fact you just pop in a game and play. Simple.
And while i understand the times are moving on with the advent of online play, DLC, updates, online media services etc. it will absolutely cripple any next gen machine that tries to pack in gimmicky useless features for the sake of "one upping" the ne...
Someone mentioned Far Cry 3 being better than Crysis 3 graphically. First of all, L O friggin' L. Second, are you on drugs. Third, google search Crysis 3 "The Fields Walkthrough" single player gameplay. Fourth, if you find that Crysis 3 footage to be below par then i have no hope for you and may god have mercy on your soul.

Why in gods green earth would Sony allow MS another full year headstart after playing catch-up (and surprisingly doing very well in the end) against the 360.
Sony are very much prepared for this next generation. I would not be too surprised if they announced their console first.
Agnis tech demo requires close to 3Teraflops to run. The demo ran on a GTX 680.
AMD Sea Islands 8XXX series GPU's run alot cooler and draw less power than the 7XXX series GPU's.
If we get Sea Islands in either or both next gen consoles, we're gonna be in for some serious eye candy.
How anyone can try to pass off these unconfirmed reports as fact is beyond me.

The sooner people stop comparing consoles to PC's the better. I wish it would all just die already.
Sony will go for the absolute best bang for buck stratedgy when it comes to the PS4's internals but more importantly they will make it alot more developer friendly.

Many seem to forget that both the Xbox 8 and PS4 are going to be doing alot of multitasking and that requires more Ram.
Putting a AAA game on pause while seamlessly moving through the PS Store and even browsing will take use system resources and thats where the Ram comes in.
Xbox 8 is already said to be multitask focused.
These machines will no longer be doing just gaming. Those who preach 2Gb is enough is dillusional so its best all gamer...

There is no official confirmation of specs from any of Sony, MS or developers. Its all speculation and heresay at this moment.
Seriously, i would like to know how you came to that conclusion.
It should be fairly obvious by now that the PS4 wont be housing an APU on its own as it will be nowhere near powerful enough to run AAA games at the graphic fidelity of say Watch Dogs or Star Wars 1313 and certainly not at 1080p (60fps).
8GB Ram is not overkill. These machines are going to evolve over time through updates and features and that 8GB Ram will come in handy when things like 3D and 4K displays become the norm.

360 started out like a house on fire with games, games and more games. Back then Xbox fans were "Its all about the games".
Nowadays the "games" don't matter according to 360 brethren.
So the 360 camp should be happy with what they have now.
That said, MS and Sony has said they want to own the entertainment room years ago even before this generation started so i dont see why so many are so surprised by both...
I never thought i'd see the light of day when having more options (in this case exclusive games) was a bad thing.
As another member put, Id happily choose from a range of games instead of just one or two.
If Sony can make available the entire PS2 collection via Gaikai to all Playstation consoles im gonna lose my mind.
And if Sony can make available their entire movie, music and entertainment properties via Gaikai to all Playstation consoles and other media devices like tablets and smartphones, im gonna die.
There is alot of potential here.
PS3, PS4, Vita and Sony Mobile games all available to play across any Sony device.
That would be the killer blow.
To me this looks like the Playstation consoles will be an "always on", constantly connected to the cloud for streaming, game saves, game content etc. etc.

I'd say that creating a games console that is easy to develop for would be the step in the right direction. They managed that with Vita. Now its upto making sure the PS4 follows the Vita's trend.
I will probably get disagree's for my comment but im not too fussed about it. Lord knows you get disagree's if you say the sky is blue.
You get positive things (8GB GDDR5) and somehow people will spin it to a negative.
Developers (the guys that actually make the games) asked for 8GB, they got it and they got the GDDR5 type, unified.
Developers (again those crazy guys who make the games) have stated that the PS4 is piss easy to develop for and more akin to a PC architechture.
