i was an exclusive console gamer like 1yr ago.. i bought my ps3 @ launch when it cost 600usd.

around thesame time i made a pc which cost me 600usd.. though it didnt have a good gpu.

1 yr back i bought a 9800gtx which cost me about 170usd. so in total my pc cost 770usd.

its been a year i buy all my multiplat games on the pc.

every game costs me 25usd cheaper then the console version, thats cause console games cost 75usd per game here,...

true ps3 & xbox games are 75usd where i am at.

pc games still cost between 35-49usd.

console gaming just is expensive.

its reason why i get all my mulitplats on the pc.

now ps3 exclusives thats what i wont mind paying for at launch even if its 75usd for games like uc2.

@champ

i agree your older rig saves you 2000 usd over the ps3.

i wonder what about the 360.

lol 360 even charges to go online. 50usd per year, times that by 7 years for a console gen.

thats 350usd.. plus any additional accessories on the 360 cost alot mroe.

anyways just live and a the gaming difference of 7years would make gaming on a 360 roughly usd2400 more then a pc.

long time console player here.

upgraded my 2yr old rig. about 1 yr back.

the upgrade cost me like 170usd to get a 9800gtx.

my rig is as follows:

2.3ghz intel dual core cpu
2gb of ram

the above cost me 600usd.. when the ps3 was at 600usd.

last year i added a 9800gtx to that.. plus 2gb more ram.

i play all my games at max resolutions.. everything maxed out and games play at mostly 60...

you will need to go for ati if you need dx11 at the moment.

ati is very competitve on the pricing.

remember that spending 50-100usd extra on a gpu can go along way in helping improve your system performance.

if you must cut costs.. do it on the cpu... or the motherboard etc. never on the gpu.

well i dont stay in the usa.

here console games cost 75usd a copy.

i just bought l4d2 and borderlands off steam with my friends 33usd each. thats like 85usd saved just over 2 games.. even if i was getting console games at 59usd US pricing.. id still save alot buying for the PC.

my pcs like 2years old.. it cost me about 600usd when i bought it thats when the ps3 cost 600usd as well.

at that time i was exclusively a ps3 gamer... anyway...

id game on a ps3.. but gaming on consoles is soo expensive.

i just buy exclusives on my ps3.

multiplats on pc, its cheaper and superior.

console gamers should join hands.

for how much money Activision has made of us gamers, they should provide dedicated server support across all platforms.

They increase the pricing in europe then increase the pricing on pc. What are they trying to do? test the waters then later on implement a higher price in all regions? they should be stopped.

if this goes through other developers might increase prices too, not just pc but for everything. we need to st...

i been a console gamer till this point.. now i only buy exclusives for my ps3.

pc just is cheaper for gaming.

@above

i dunno how you are getting so many problems... all i have is steam.. point and click on the game.

it updates and patches everything.. no hassles for me.

my gaming has been cheaper & superior ever since i made the switch.

i got it on steam too dude.

33usd..

plus higher res, smooth frame rate... mod support later on is too much to miss on.

i stay in the middle east dude.

Dubai to be exact.

games on the consoles here cost 280dirhams.. thats like 75usd.

like i mentioned before importing a game from the usa to here costs 10-15usd... and you can expect a week atleast before you get it.

so the games on steam cost me 35-49usd.. and i dont have to wait for the games to arrive, plus the prices just are more resonable asids the fact that multiplats just run better on the pc. ...

buying online doesnt really save that much.

it costs 59usd for the game plus shipping charges to ship internationally can be around 10-15usd

so its back to 75usd per game :(

so yea.. steam works out to be the best solution for me.

naa i just have a pc which i upgraded about a year back and a ps3.

360games cost 75usd here too. i dont havea 360 cause i think the 360 sucks prod lol. when i went to buy the ps3 i looked at the 360 as well. the very piece the shop keeper wanted to show me wouldnt run cause it had prod issues.. also here the micosoft warranty isnt valid, so there is no where to turn to if the xbox fails. imo which happens quite often.

so i buy most games on pc. exclusives on the...

agreed man.. games on ps3 cost 75usd where i am at.

my ps3 lays there collecting dust.

my games are now bought on steam.

unless its a ps3 exclusive.

dam ppl actually disagree with me when the prices on console games can be so high in some regions. why should someone pay such high prices? when a cheaper and superior solution is out there?

i was an exclusive console gamer..

all the way from the nes days.. purchased the snes, n64 then the ps2 now ps3.

its been nearly a year i started gaming on the pc.

My games are so much cheaper and better looking.

my ps3 is just used for its exclusives now... multiplats are just cheaper and better on the pc.

PS: i even got all my old nes, snes, n64 classics downloaded on the pc as roms.

now i dont need to ke...

all pc games now support 360 controller natively.

they even show all the keys you are supposed to press.. just as if you would be playing on the 360.

the pc honestly is a upressed 360.. minus the online charges need to be paid to microsoft

and the games are much cheaper.

ps3 games cost 60usd

pc games cost 50usd some even as low as 35usd

so sure you are paying an extra 10-25usd per game.

purchase 10games and you get a free gpu ;-)

my friends and i just got borderlands on steam for 33usd a copy almost half the price of the ps3 version..

pls tell me why in my right mind would i want to pay 60usd on the ps3 version, when my pc does it better?

5309d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

your ps3 does require you to pay 10usd extra per game you buy.

which actually makes it more costly then upgrading the graphics card every 3-4years.

5309d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

my gaming is actually cheaper since i started buying my multiplats on the pc, steam rocks.

i use my ps3 for its exclusives thats about it.

4 of us friends got borderlands from steam @33usd each.

same with left for dead 2.

dragon age cost me 49usd.

and the list goes on, i save alot more just buying games on pc and it doesnt really need much upgrades.

5309d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

this trend was first started by microsoft..

always paying developers to do something extra on the 360.. and its ruining the market in a way.

imo ppl need to stop paying for such stuff.. its probably game content that is cut off from the game.. then later on charged.
