Just bought Deus Ex from steam 9.99usd. Its cool the older games are still playable on PC and in HD to boot.

So why did they borrow the part from the PC? If the overall setup was so good then there wasnt a need to go with a GPU. Clearly They needed a GPU, had they not gone for that part PS3 wouldnt have even been in a position to keep up with the 360.

Getting the PC version for any multiplat is the best idea. I learned the hardway.

Microsoft and care for fan? WHATT???

Online is charged
hardware accessories cost upto 400% normal prices
XBL uses a flawed points charging system

If anything Microsoft ensures to fully suck the blood out of its fans.

If your PC has a dual core to quad core cpu.

you only need a GPU upgrade to make it gaming and it can be connected to a TV. Getting a GPU for my system is exactly what i did. There isnt a need to buy a new computer.

100usd will get you a GPU better then whatever the consoles can do and ull save on every game bought.

I owned a 9800gtx up until now. All i had to do was swing all the settings to high with 1080p graphics.

Sure there are some games which are very badly optimised but thats just 10%. Most games even today run maxed out on 8800 -9800gtx (those gpus are from the time consoles were released. In the mean while you save on every game purchased.

Its the reason now my PS3 is only reservered for exclusives. Where i am at consoles games cost 25-30usd more then the P...

Yea but what happens when a PC built when consoles first released still outperforms consoles and is cheaper with every game bought.

Just shows us how badly aged the tech in consoles is. Like someone mentioned its not hard to own a PS3 play the exclusives. Keep the PC for 90% of the games which are mutiplat anyways.

Not true.

My 9800gtx while being 2yrs old still plays any multiplat better then my ps3 can. Which is why i buy all multis on the PC and enjoy them at 1080p with max settings.

Badcompany 2 on my ps3 runs at 28fps 720p

On my PC with the above mentioned GPU it runs at 1080p 40-50fps. Why would i pay more for the PS3 version pls enlighten me? I dont see a justification for paying Sony unnecessary royalities for a lesser version.

Which is why all the multiplats you are playing are mostly in SUB HD on consoles.

The PC version of games are always the closest to what the devs had in their mind. Games this year on PC which are far superior then the console counterparts:

Bad company 2
Dragon age awakening
Grand theft auto Episodes
Just cause 2
Mass effect 2
Metro 2033
Splinter cell conviction

Tell me did the devel...

1000pounds is very high.

try 400-500pounds for a rig that will run all games in 1080p(something no console can do). Plus it will do alot more then any console can.

Been buying games on PC since the last 2 years. Stopped buying any multiplats on my PS3. Its only reserved for exclusives now.

If you go with that attitude that the game is better on PC, so no point buying it on console. Then every other multiplat looks alot better and runs better on PC. In that case you shouldnt be buying any of those multiplats on the console.

Imo you should buy the game on you platform of choice even if the PC version is superior. Thou...

Ouch looking at those benchmarks the 8800gtx ran crysis @ 60fps in high settings in 720p.

I dont think a console will be able to manage the same with crysis 2, at most i would be looking at 30fps from a console with crysis 2.

Anyways my multiplat purchases since the last 2 years have been on PC, no point getting a console version.

With 25million users on steam alone DD looks to be very viable thats for sure.

As you mentioned the biggest advantage being u dont lose all your games when a console gen ends.

Started buying games over steam about 2 years back, best decision i made.

@chak

True, if there was so much powerleft over in the PS3 then that would mean KZ2 was terribly optimised and since sony spent 60million usd on that game that doesnt seem to be the case.

Most likes KZ3 wont be looking as good as KZ2 there will be some compromise somewhere, no matter what Sony would like us to tell us.

Dam PC version is 20usd cheaper then console version. Consoles feel like a rip off.

While i am a PS3 fan i agree. Move is probably going to be for casuals and thats what Nintendo does best.

5077d ago 6 agree10 disagreeView comment

Lot more then DVD or Bluray i am sure.

DD might be the safest bet. Saves on Packaging costs, transport costs and its not going to get lost.

Personally i like whats happening with the PC at the moment. Everything is going DD, i have bought many games from Steam in the last 2 years. Even when traveling download them anytime to my Laptop and i am set.

They made around 850million USD in losses on the gaming division, which pulled the entire company into losses.

I really wonder how long Sony can keep up with this. While companies like Nintendo who get a free ride reap massive profits.

Lol true, since Dolphin actually runs all Wii games in HD. PS3 does HD but it wont have the Wii games. So yea Dolphin emulator wins there.

apple is terrible, think what would happen to te development of GPUS if this really happened.

Think of the impact on next gen consoles. With apples rediculous pricing and stagnant development it would be terrible overall.
