It's very resource heavy to emulate. The PS4 wouldn't be able to emulate PS3 games. And hardware BC is out of the question, it would've been too expensive. People really should stop complain and instead be happy that there at least will be some kind of solution.
@fanboybeatdown
Except that's not the fact at all. PS4 allocations is just as XB1s in any country the both consoles launched in. US is a perfect example. With your logic if demand was equal for both but Sony had to spread out supplies MS would win in the US and in the UK. But they aren't, which means that the PS4 got higher demand and sells better in all territories, the allocated amount of consoles in the 30something markets the Xb1 didn't launch in is so minuscu...
It's kind of weird for people to be upset by this. The cost of providing this streamed media was not part of the original retail purchasing price of your games. Running these servers will be expensive.People really need to stop feeling companies owe them when it comes to things like this, cause they really wouldn't be able to turn profit if they gave everything away while having to pay astronomical sums of money to keep those services up.
May be a bit early to be using those words yes^^. But demand wise the PS4 is really the hotter product. I'm kind of baffled that the Xbox One seems to be meeting demand rather easily while Sony for the life of them can't pump out enough to go around. I think the numbers will be even more in PS4s favour the following months.
Why? lol
It's kind of strange seeing how the US internet infrastructure is kind of underdeveloped compared to other markets, especially in a sense of usage caps. In Sweden they don't even exists and I'm pretty sure it's the same around Europe. Oh well, I'd imagine at least Europe getting it within a year.
Vita got some great games actually. It's kinda sad it's bombing like it is. You'll be happy with that purchase, if anything just for the joy of being able to play PS1 games on the go cause that is awesome.
XB1 OS seems more like bloatware with all its apps. That aside, do you honestly believe MS to be the only company in the world to employ good software programmers? It's just stupid to believe MS is the only one who have something to gain from optimisation, like the PS platform was static. What is static however is computational power of the two machines, one being SIGNIFICANTLY more powerful than the other. You can't code your way out of that hole.
@Bigz
Playstation brand is one of Sony biggest assets actually. Can they turn that profitable it's a good thing for the whole company. Sony really just need to dump the TV business if they can't compete with the cheaper Korean brands etc.
You seriously believed MJ owned HALF of SONY? You know one of the biggest companies in the world...
"Phil Harrison always had the personality that made you believe what ever he said."
That's not likeability, that's called being slick, i.e a businessman not an enthusiast. Shu is a gamer, and I bet even Kaz at least was to some extent. Tretton certainly isn't and is more of a business type but he's so charming that it's hard to dislike him, he also conveys honesty; Just look at the way he addressed the PSN hack on E3, so genuine and I heard that ...
He can't really clarify something which needs no clarifying^^ Ask an engineer instead, cause then you won't have to wade through bullshit.
Lol Phil Harrison, are you drunk? How about Shuhei Yoshida? He's probably the highest executive in any company to interact with his customers directly, putting down sizeable time to answer questions or just make you happy by congratulating you on your birthday. I've never seen anything like it in any business. Quite astonishing to be honest and should really be amended.

Yup, nothing mind blowing here, "This is not the graphics fix you're looking for, move along"
Well, Putin is a strong leader for sure but he's immensely corrupt, embezzling tax money etc.
I kinda feel the system too. My brother having owned one for a few months let me borrow it for a few days. It's a fantastic system, I played Soul Sacrifice for hours. The Vita had a software problem initially but I feel it's a bit rectified now, there are a slew of games on there - Having the PSP library and a ton of PS1 games available to play on a handheld is fantastic too. I loved diving into MGS1, MGS3, Resident Evil 2. I really wonder what the hump can be now. Why isn't peopl...
Steam uses DRM sure. It's hardly intrusive and as platform built for digital games one could assume a user would have internet. The same thing can not be said by a console. Steam is also acceptable due to there being options outside of Steam, console marketplaces are monopolies. Everyone should simply stop ever comparing Steam to any potential console DRM, cause it will never be the same.
Those of you who say this will work just fine seriously don't know what you're talking about and have no knowledge in the subject other than "But MS said so". The idea mentioned above about a consistent and stalking enemy for instance is just a waste or resources, why waste computational power on that when for the player a spawned in enemy at random times is just the same?! You wouldn't be able to know whether this enemy stalked you or not.
Sonic989 mad...
That's the thing right? Why do people seem to think those two things are mutually exclusive?! :S I for one think FF15 if the suggested fluidity is a reality then that game will be pronominal in both areas.
Really? Where from, sounds interesting. Haven't heard anything about that. Anyhoo, Sony is killing it.
