I already chose the Wii U in the PREVIOUS Holiday Season and they failed badly. I still only own four games for the damn thing; waste of money.
I'm going with PS4 this time.
Sounds right. The PS4 and Xbox One are relatively conservative as far as hardware power is concerned compared to the PS3 and 360, and prior generations, so a power jump should be possible sooner. And if they opt to go less conservative with the next consoles again, the power jump could also be more significant too.
I came here just to post this. :)
That's exactly the vibe I got from first seeing the game back at E3, even right down to the first word of it's name "Quantum" sounding like the first word of Heavy Rain's developer "Quantic".
Personally, I do enjoy games like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. I'm interested in this too, but I'm not sure how I feel about long entirely non-interactive segments, as I tend to disengage much more easily with passive media like movies and TV...
Even before the delay, the reaction towards Xbox One announcement here in the Netherlands seems to have been extremely poor. One local game store in my town has been advertising PS4 in their windows since early June (i.e. before the delay), and yet there has been no presence of the Xbox One there at all.
I guess it didn't help either that one of our mainstream local newspapers had a scathing report on the original Xbox One DRM policies before they were reversed, but noth...
So this is a game with extremely long cutscenes? OK then.
Yes. I've been using Gentoo as my main (and only) OS for over a decade. :)
There are already legal implementations of DirectX for Linux, such as Crossover Games and the now-defunct Cedega.
They tend to be pretty buggy and have issues with lots of games though.
@Gemmol,
No, not at all. I own a Wii and a Wii U. I just don't do enough commuting to justify owning two portable gaming systems and I already own a Vita.
@despair
As long as we eventually get it, I don mind waiting. :)
Damn, I about shit myself when I read this article about a new Persona game being exclusive to 3DS, as I have no intention of buying a 3DS.
Great to know Persona 5 is coming to PS3. :)
On the contrary, it's very easy to differentiate at a glance between 30 and 60 FPS on the Vita screen. And if I can see that with 30% vision, I'm pretty sure anyone can.
3DS may be cool, but it's hard to consider a handheld as a substitute for a TV-based console.
Correct. Also, the PS4 version is 60 FPS, which isn't possible to show in a Youtube video because Youtube is limited to 30.
I use Linux in the first place for exactly this reason. I haven't touched Windows on any of my home PC's for well over a decade now, because I simply don't trust Microsoft with my hardware and data.
You're correct. The reason it shows 465GB is because filesystems reserve a percentage of the drive for filesystem-related data. The actual percentage depends on which filesystem you're using. I believe 465GB is what you get with NTFS. It's 459GB on my EXT4 formatted 500GB drives.
With that said, I wouldn't expect the filesystem of a games console needs to be as complex as that of a desktop PC, so I'm not sure why it should need the same amount of reser...
Not sure what the point of this is. My plan was to hook up my Astro Mixamp to the optical output of the PS4, then connect my Beyerdynamic DT770's to the Astro Mixamp, resulting in awesome surround effect on awesome headphones, which is exactly what I do with my PS3 right now.
What benefit does the setup here give me over my own intentions?
The article doesn't detail exactly what we're missing out on. How much are these points worth? Is it $0.01 for every $1 spent, as tends to be typical of these kinds of rewards?
If it's something negligible like this, it's hardly something worth getting worked up about, especially considering a lot of PlayStation games fall in price quicker and further than they do in the US, meaning that anyone who doesn't buy all their games on day-one is probably savin...
A freeze and a crash are two different things.
A freeze is typically the result of a process becoming trapped within an algorithm (e.g. an infinite loop) from which it's unable to escape and continue the program.
A crash is caused by a process doing something it shouldn't resulting in termination of the program, which is likely what this image shows.
Worse yet that Sony's own platform - The Vita - has no announced version. Okay, the Vita is not a big user-base, but it's their own platform!
