Game and Smyths both went down for a while. Game is still down for the past 3 hours.

I've been chasing one the whole day. Almost had one in my Amazon Basket then it said expected in December.

"As of the time of writing, the Xbox Series X was once again sold out, but what might be the best deal in consoles this generation – the Xbox Series S – was still available, four hours after EB Games put the units on sale again"

So Series X second wave sold out but the Series S still available? seems fair, Series S demand will be less than X right now, wont be high until it actually hit stores during the holiday period and people see the price point.

That's why i wrote (Est) - likely figure is around $130m to $160m my guess.

I think you mean they are not making any profit as of yet - this is obvious. Gamepass has only recently begun to grow. Like any service or product, it's an investment with profit to be generated over a long term.

Either or investment is based on projections and right now it's indicating to be a great success, hence the investment.

This is pretty interesting, 15 million subs = $225 million in monthly revenue (est) so far. If Gamepass is supported with the right content, support and stable growth + user retention - this will be a massive success.

Early signs point's it being incredible so far.

No wonder MS see value in investing $7.5 billion in Bethesda

"Gamepass doesnt sell THAT well"

Press release states they have 15 mil subs....

I think its pretty doing well

I think its safe to say it'll go exclusive for Gamepass - Xbox and PC only.

It's kind of weird - things that were held as being core to Sony's philosophy ("We believe in Generations") and bad messaging by Microsoft ("Console Exclusive" *also ...

I mean it is targeting a different part of the market really, series s is meant to be a budget next gen upgrade at a cheaper price.

1734d ago 0 agree4 disagreeView comment

Nice - guaranteed to get Series X on 10th Nov and then PS5 Digital on 19th Nov. Hopefully this ends the year nicely!

So wait! Now we're going to blame Xbox for listening to feedback?????

In that case, screw you Phil! How dare you try to build a cheaper console that's affordable to most the public!!!! How dare you not be selfish and make the apple of game consoles at sky high prices for only core gamers /s

Unfortunately alot of people will not listen to that fact and instead blame Series S to hold back next gen.

"and written to a high level API which doesn't allow for maximum efficient use of any one of those configurations"

Not actually sure what you mean by this? When developing a game they are not written to a "high level API" they are coded into a game engine (e.g. Unity) and then rendered through that same engine and then optimized based on performance.

It all depends some dev's are complaining but others are not - if you are doing a multiplat game this is nothing new, however with platform exclusives it is more work.

Hold on, didn't Xbox release a video explaining how the Series S was designed? I think they pretty clearly explained is the game will allow Next Gen experiences however in a lower resolution.

For the people raging, let's use a bit of logic here - Studio's that develop for PC/Console - already cater for dozens of spec configurations, such as which are both more powerful and weaker than the soon to be released consoles.

I understand there is a...
