Probably bexause they alienated their whole user base with a weaker console that woild require an online connection and not allow used games.
Yeah I still don't get why Xbox is popular here (UK). My friend has an xbox one and I don't get it.... Though I have a feeling she may have just upgraded from the 360 and have friends on xbox live.
I watched the intro that leaked and was mightily impressed. There's no way I'm gonna spoil the whole demo though!
Aside from lack of ownership (looking forward to an ocean of negs) the cost of streaming to the environment is going to be massive due to how much energy it requires and therefore the huge carbon footprint. With streaming becoming more and more common, the effects are going to get bigger and bigger.
Games always get better once the first generation exclusives come along. Then there is a jump on the second wave of games. Have a look at the launch PS3 titles vs launch PS4 titles and I beg to differ that the jump wasn't that great. Of course returns are diminishing now, but I still think the jumps are decent enough, when you look at everything titles have to offer.
@isarai is physics heavy CPU based then? Genuine question as I don't know what tasks are heavy on CPU vs GPU, all I know is the current consoles are seriously lacking on the CPU front.
The acquisition of those companies has had no games yet, so you can't use that as a comeback. I'm sure they will produce some good games, but even saying "you'll see" is not a valid response.
I guarantee you, I would be my life on the fact that gamepass is currently a loss-leader. There is no way it is profitable yet. Not saying it isn't a good service, it is, for the consumer. But at the moment MS are trying to gain traction and subs so they can r...
I offset my carbon footprint in big ways to mitigate my carbon impact from gaming 😏😉
My guess is both consoles will be £499, however I would be shocked (and overjoyed) if they were £449. They would need to be sold at a loss though, no question. I'd imagine they could even be £549, but they will be wanting to be under £500. Wow, I just sounded like the article. I should be a video game journalist /s
That is a dev kit. The PS5 design hasn't been revealed yet.
Frustrating does not equal 0/10. 0/10 is an unplayable broken mess. The 0/10 is a candidate for worst game of the generation, or even decade. Even broken, hideous disasters of shovelware tend to get 1/10 or 2/10. There is no way those are legitimate scores.
Why would they need 4k? Yeah, the resolution isn't great, but increasing it will decrease graphical fidelity. Games on PSVR now don't look that great (I know from experience) so pushing up the resolution would massively decrease the graphics on PS5. I think Sony are best served continuing to support the base unit but perhaps going wireless, then they can really push the graphics and keep the price low and accessible for everyone. It was always seen as the budget option. I love my PSVR...
Make sure you aim for the head so it stays down.
Oh Lord, not this again. Yeah, ok, maybe one day it's possible. But that day is also the day the game will REQUIRE online. Therefore you will no longer be able to physically own it. Once the servers go down, say goodbye to that game forever. Developers will use this to stop people playing games and move them on the the next thing. It is not something I am a fan of, personally.
Oh wow, I didn't know you can't cancel preorders from the eshop. As they are instantly accessible anyway (bar downloading) I don't really see the point of pre ordering digital, though admittedly I have super fast broadband.
I presume it's ok to do this as I'm not affiliated with the website in any way, I use psprices website to track my playstation and switch games I'm after. They will email or send notifications to your browser when they have a sale.
For EU readers to note: these are deals in North America.
It's funny, your thoughts kind of echo how I was with Breath of the Wild. I felt quite lost because of the extreme freedom in that game, and it's only when I let go and turned the HUD off and just started exploring that it really opened up for me. Until that point I had been expecting more direction because I had been so used to modern games giving you a dot on a HUD and a straight forward mission structure. People are so used to carbon copy experiences nowadays, that something differ...
People complain that there are so many generic titles and that all genres bleed into each other nowadays, then Kojima comes along and comes up with something new and people review bomb it. I haven't played the game, but I will say this: Kojima took a risk. He said all along that he thought it would split opinions and wasn't sure how well received it would be and he was right, but risks in AAA development are basically none existent nowadays, so my hat goes off to him for trying.
I get what they're doing with gamepass but I don't see how they can be making much money when the thing is permanently on sale for £1.
