Since mint is based off of ubuntu it should work ok.
check out vortex keyboards.

you can choose what kind of switch you want if you don't like the black cherry mx.
windows is in 90% of pcs in the world so I don't think microsoft want pc dead. pc games though, I'm sure they rather have xbox so they can monetize everything. sony develops games for pc though (SOE)
It's cool that you don't have to rebuy games thanks to steamplay. I think this is just for ubuntu right now.
I think crysis is a good example of "streamlining" (since you mentioned it I guess you've played it) they not only took out leaning but also simplified the suit and made it linear. I think a lot of the times it has to do with the controls, on pc you have around 80 keys (without #pad) and console you have like 10 buttons. Another thing is the contextual action button in some games. Instead of being able to just do whatever you want its go to place, wait for prompt, press button ...
You can use the new weapons without paying for them. Just kill someone using one and pick it up.
I've had good luck buying open box motherboards from newegg. Of course I'd rather buy new but the ROG motherboards are expensive and I don't really care for the xtra stuff.
The most important thing to me is the 12V rail. You need to make sure it has enough amps to power the graphics card(s). I guess you also want something 80+ or higher too.
I just play games to test for stability. Most games will put a heavy load on your computer.
The problem with that is the developers who made Lost Odyssey, Too Human, Blue Dragon?, etc. are independent and don't have to make games just for xbox unless MS pays them to make it exclusive. I don't think the developers in MicrosoftGameStudios would be able to make a sequel to most of those games by themselves even if they do have the rights to the ip. Microsoft's in house devs make Halo(this is a 1st attempt) and forza.
This would be bad news for ms.
the kinect 4gb bundle is $250-$300.
I always thought pc had the best community. If you are having studder problems it could be your graphic driver. If you're running sli of xfire it's a common problem, try updating the sli profile. you could also try to get the latest dx and visual C++ redist and run the dxdiag
ms don't really make games on pc. there's flight sim and age of empires, not much else.
have you seen planetside2 footage? I think it's like 1000 vs 1000 in a persistent world. It's being made by Sony for pc only.
lol yeah best ai ever

what's the point in teaming up with apple when they want "open hardware platforms"?
