Console fanboys are going to freak out and probably riot if their FPS titles become subscription-based. I come from a large MMO background, so that doesn't really phase me as much.
Still, with a ton of MMOs going F2P recently, having some sort of game going the other direction doesn't really sit well.
Whether it had an install or not, the sticker was on it. It may be just placed on games at random, but I noticed it was on newer titles only.
I don't think offering the service itself is illegal, but Sony may have an issue with them saying the price of the PS3 is $329.99 (which includes their charge for a firmware upgrade) when it is not. If they start advertising that in ads and such, Sony is going to have issues with it simply because it's giving the public perception that the PS3 is actually at a higher price point than it really is.
I'm just curious now how much they charge to install a game for you - a game that will install itself anyway the moment you put it in to play for the first time.
That actually looks like the most fun Kinect game I've seen to date.
This actually looks really good to me, even moreso with the Move.
Although I wouldn't particularly call myself a fan of the shooter genre, I can't see a reason why EA should have done what they did and basically give in.
This could set an interesting precedent for at least bringing over PSP imports and such. I'd love to see it go in that direction.
Yes, the author IS aware it is multi-platform, as he denoted in the article, if you actually read it. The point was that the experience would be better with Kinect than with Move because of it being hands-free.
I visit the JP PSN store daily almost, so yeah, I am well aware.
If this was the case, I would think it shouldn't even be allowed to create a Japanese PSN account from a North American IP address, to download games that haven't been rated by the U.S.'s ESRB.
This would certainly make purchasing and importing download games (like PS1 classics or PSP titles) a lot easier. Plus, it would afford them the opportunity to make more money possibly. I'm just not sure why they haven't done this yet. Different front ends, same content - worldwide.
Interesting. Apple apparently feels they're competing with Sony and Nintendo. That comparison is a tad bit off. But, whatever floats their boat.
I don't agree with the author, but he does represent the standpoint of a certain group of people, and that voice needs to be heard, I suppose.
I, for one, will be getting Move on launch day.
Yeah, probably. In a way, it's hard to compare the two - I mean, who compares software to hardware? But you know for a fact that Sony is releasing the Move that week because of Halo: Reach, so...apparently Sony is expecting the two to compete.
Good to see someone clearing this up, because Squeenix isn't helping clarify anything, even though they claim they have.
Excellent review, although I've never really been into the Worms franchise. Glad it seems to be pretty awesome, though.
I would expect nothing less from a Metal Gear Solid game. Another great (non-RPG) reason to own a PSP!
A shorter game isn't always bad if the overall experience is awesome, which this seems to be.
That's some tough love, Sony.
