Yeah, and to me, this sounds like a "proof of concept" problem. VR isn't pre-established as say, mobile gaming or console gaming. Even if there are a lot of VR techs on the market, it's still hard to convince an investor this is invest-able.

The problem is ego on the part of ZeniMax. I figure they don't have the capital to fully complete this Oculus project. VR isn't cheap, which is why it was acquired for the price it did. Carmack did a favor to Zenimax.
So, it puts Carmack's name in an even better light, and at the same time, Zenimax looks better as a company to investors. But since they want to sue Carmack, hey.. They'll go through a PR fumble.
I also strongly believe this is MW4. Mostly because Sledgehammer Games has been teasing this to be MW4 for years now.

Ghosts was a failure not just because of how absurd the game's code was; it failed because there wasn't enough marketing heat to the game - it's back to square one. So, Modern Warfare 4 makes MORE sense than a new sub-series...

It isn't really an issue. Articles like this grinds my gears because its the same "reason" why many games are dumbed down because it challenges the 'quo' or taboos. It's also the same reason why MW2's Airport mission got the controversy it did. It's the same reason why Kojima removed that "Arsenal Gear crashing into World Trade Center." Annoying.

Oh my god. Let the idea die in a fire, please. I'm NOT guying to buy the next World War 2 game. I've had enough of those games. I played COD2/3, dropped it, and never looked back.
Now, if any game compares remotely close to Modern Warfare... Count me in.
