Nintendo - leads UK sales for 2022
Xbox - leads UK sales for March
Elden Ring - leads UK sales for March.

How should they report that information in a way that doesn't offend you?

I was going to say grapple hook. When in doubt, add a grapple hook.

Sounds like they missed the mark on their projections. Sony isn't the most forthcoming on their analytics, but to only expect 50k in sales, regardless of the early install base, seems like an obvious miss from the dev team's leadership.

But hey, maybe they thought all of the "we support the devs" parrots were actually being truthful...

You struck a nerve with that one.

FWIW, Tencent has board of director input. 2 of the 5 directors were/are appointed by Tencent.

Generally, they're probably OK with any plan that makes them money.

And as they've told us, they absolutely, definitely, 100% do not share customer data with the PRC. Clearly that's just a "smear campaign" against their good name...

I don't see too many core gamers being pumped for Metaverse stuff. Most of it is just theory and talk right now. Love it or hate, it's coming, though.

LEGO has already come out and expressed interest in building up a LEGO metaverse. Partnering with Epic makes sense there. There is some cool potential for them in that space.

Now that we see some OGs like Second Life making a comeback for this metaverse push, I can also see Sony wanting to revisit ...

The original games were from the 90's and were targeting teens. They also weren't nearly as well written as you remember.

But based on the math, that "original audience" would be about 40 years old.

No matter how funny some of these over dramatic takes may be, you are correct. I am 100% certain that the new Tomb Raider titles are not targeting 40+ year old men as their target.

I'll rephrase then.

I hope to have an "irrelevant" business that generates 16b in revenue a year, is supported by a parent company that generates 15b in profit each quarter, and manages to trigger fanboys into stuttering rants by its mere existence.

Is that better?

Quit crying and move on. The insecurity in these rants is entertaining to see, but it's foolish.

I hope to have an "irrelevant" business one day that allows me to write $68b checks.

@Shadow

I love the MLB conspiracy theories. They're some of my favorites.

Playing it Day 1 on GP btw. Also managed to get a used copy of FW for $40 this week.

Good time to be a gamer who doesn't pretend that overspending makes you a "real gamer."

One tier of Game Pass (ultimate) includes Xbox Live. Just like the upper tier of PS+ will soon.

So should we compare PS+ subs vs. XBL+Game Pass numbers?

Or should we just all agree that these articles are useless flamebait?

Debuted as the number 2 paid game on Xbox, stayed in the top list of paid games all year.

There are much better titles to use for your anti-xbox rants. This ain't the one.

I was thinking they'd do 1 for slayer, 1 for BTB, then stagger a 1-2 more for each part-way through the season.

If seasons are going to be 6 months each, I was thinking 6 new maps total per season would be pretty fair.

Fingers crossed their priority is just more focused on forge and coop. Maybe Season 3 could start the "massive" updates with a campaign add on+ 4-6 new maps.

For now...sigh...

Well that's dumb.

MS has been producing about 750k consoles per month since launch. Sony is aiming for 1 million a month (they had hoped for more like 1.25 a month).

Series S isn't quite as constrained as SX or PS5. Use those deduction skills.

It'll be ok. Sony will sell more once they get a stock bump, too.

So silly...

Many years ago, I used to game with some guys who wrote a few Prima guides. They would have to work with the dev teams before release to get the guides published so early.

I'm sure there is some of that today. But between SM, youtube, Discord, etc., these things probably occur in real time just by the sheer size of the bigger gaming communities.

@S2killinit

Meh, preventing day and date doesn't protect those games as much as it just protects their current margins.

Sony doesn't want to risk shaking up their ecosystem too much. It's understandable, but the PR speak is kind of eye-rolling.

But if we're looking at maybe 3 AAA SP titles a year, why not make a Premium Ultra tier? Say $20 a month? No promotional discounts.

There is a $$ number where ...
