Why does exclusivity matter? SoP was great, and that was pretty much all multiplats...

Regardless, with what we saw from SGF and SOP, that Xbox show was the best we got all year. Seems like most other big games are holding off for now.

Maybe not so subtle then, lol.

Here's a good video on some of the differences between NMS and a game like Starfield.

So subtle there at the end...

You crack me up.

It'll be awhile for Fallout, unless Bethesda changes its stance on remakes and let's someone revisit older titles.

Outer Worlds 2 will likely scratch that itch for me, though. I look for inxile's new project to borrow a lot from their Fallout/Wasteland roots, too.

Beyond Phil Spencer, it's interesting to once again see Noah Musler mentioned...

@Hatchet

Say what you mean. The vague over dramatics aren't my thing.

But een if a game moved it's release date as you described, likely it was bc of covid disruptions.

If a 6-12 month delay is now needed on games developed over the last 5 years, good probability that they went through a disruption that lasted...say 6-12 months?

Just think this through.

No worries. I fully understand the audience here.

Console warriors aside, I know that there are people who instantly discredit the "covid excuse" no matter the industry. Yet, not a week goes by that I don't hear about some corporate client still dealing with some covid-related problem.

But we need to remember that game development in particular involves a group of people working together to put out creative content. All the Zoom meetings in...

I get it, but it's not just MS. Go through your list and name the titles that weren't previously delayed. That's not a pattern you can ignore.

And I suspect we are not done with the 2022 delays, either.

Nintendo has had its gaps, and so have Sony. The truth is, both of them have had their shit together for decades. MS just started to get with the program in 2018, 2019.

But look at WB. They might finally release some new stuf...

The article addresses the 2022 releases, but that's not quite the point here.

I have access to everything, yet I can clearly see the impact the last two years' of disruptions have caused.

Like the article mentions, devs with titles that were close to release managed to adapt well enough to cross the finish line in 2020 and 2021. 2022 started great, but it was mostly titles we expected to have released in 2021 or sooner.

It seems...

@porkchop

I hear you, but I've grown used to it.

@Abizzel

Dying Light 2 lets you keep loot, but quest progress is limited to host. Even worse, there were constant bugs that prevented progress for the host too.

@poppatron

I think they said there wouldn't be AI teammates in SP.

Good article. I do hope more gamers take the time to read these accounts before trashing devs for all of the delays.

Unfortunately, we are not a particularly patient group...

Pretty much the norm.

Far Cry
Dying Light
Elden Ring

All similar.

It's time consuming for players. We'd all mess around with it a few times, then revert back to fast travel. BGS knows this. We know this.

So yeah, no surprise.

The new info actually made me excited to check it out.

From the director: "You can creep along, and stealth, and play at your own pace, and absorb all the environmental storytelling and all the readables. If I was a player, the first time I played, that’s the way I would do it from beginning to end. But it’s also a party game because, as soon as you add another character, those two characters are talking to each other. And it’s just meant to be fun in that sense.”

It's staying with 343.

Despite all of the ups and downs, and the vocal fans (and non-fans), 343 has yet to make a bad game.

4, 5, and Infinite may not be anyone's pick as the best Halo, but they've all been good. Right now, it's hard for me to play Infinite and not recognize that Halo has never felt better to play.

Hopefully they've sorted out their management and production issues because there's a lot of talen...

That new dino game made me lose hope on a new Dino Crisis.

I'll never understand why we haven't seen a new Darkstalkers, either.
