GP: "In the past few years, zombie games have swarmed throughout the market like a horde of... well, the obvious. Now Sega has given us a zombified spinoff of its popular Yakuza series, but does this oddity make it worth revisiting a genre that's become tired to the point of being obnoxious?"
RGG Studio, the developers behind Yakuza and Judgment, have blown up recently, but should their older, obscure games be given a second chance?
Absolutely, especially ishin and kenzan. I also played the kurohyou psp game that was translated recently and had a blast. Now i want more of it but sadly the 2nd one isnt translated. Maybe RGG studio could port it to some kind of HD collection? Would be cool
Yakuza Ishin and Kenzan should totally get a remaster/port for modern consoles with a western localization. Dead Souls I'm more on the fence. I had fun with that game. But it's undoubtedly far below the franchise standard.
There was an interview where they mentioned they are giving it a second thought just because Ghost of Tsushima did so well, previously they were not convinced those games would find an audience in the west.
Personally I would love it if they ported these over.
Yeah, Yakuza: Dead Souls is very loud and very dumb, but sometimes that's exactly what you really need.
It's the best zombie game I played with a very mutual serious tone story that does not take itself to a serious if that makes sense
I highly recommend you play this game I just wish they would update the controls because the controls are just kind of weird. But you get used to it after a few hours
Very fun game. I would love a sequel. The first person controls were hard at first, but once you learn the trick to quick aim, its cake. Another overlooked classic.
Get to the Top sang by Majima is alone a reason to play this hidden gem.
This game was garbage, no I’m not talking about the story or whatever I mean the core gameplay it was absolute rubbish.
YouTube’s ‘reznoire’ has shared two videos, showing Gran Turismo HD Concept and Yakuza: Dead Souls running on the PC thanks to the best PS3 emulator, RPCS3. While emulation is not perfect yet, these two titles can be described as a bit playable at this point.
