How To Build a Car in Tears of the Kingdom

With so many new things you can do in Tears of the Kingdom, perhaps the best addition is the ability to build cars. Yes, we’re talking about actually building our own cars based on how we want them to look. However, you’ll find that you won’t have the ability to do this from the very start.

We’re here to guide you on how you can build a car in Tears of the Kingdom to cruise through Hyrule in style.

How Do You Build a Car in Tears of the Kingdom

To build a car in Tears of the Kingdom, you have to use the Ultrahand ability to put together various materials. You’ll need a base, something to push your car, a power source, and finally a steering stick or wheel. Once everything is put together, you’ll have your very own Hyrule Ferrari.

To make things easier, we’ll be going through everything in a step by step manner.

Step #1: Unlock the Ultrahand Ability

The first thing you need to do is to unlock the Ultrahand ability. Now, if you had been completing the shrines at the very start of the game for The Closed Door questline, then chances are you already have this ability.

However, if you weren’t, then you have to make your way to the Ukouh Shrine to unlock this brand new ability.

Step #2: Use the Ultrahand Ability to Build a Car

With the Ultrahand ability acquired, you can now get to building your car. The first thing you’ll need is to find a base for your car. Something simple should be good enough, and it’s preferred if it already has four wheels on it. If it doesn’t, then you can simply add wheels yourself by using the Ultrahand ability.

With the base found, you can attach planks of wood or any other material you want as the body of the car. Naturally, you’ll have to use the Ultrahand ability to stick materials on it. With the base made, you have to add two more things. The first is something that pushes the car, like a Zonai Fan that can be activated to propel your car forward. The second, although not mandatory, is a steering stick or wheel that can help you steer the car once it’s running.

Step #3: Activate the Car

With your car built, all that’s left to do is to activate the car. We recommend you use some Zonai Charges to ensure the car has enough juice to get you to your destination. Once you’re ready, just strike the car to activate the Zonai Fan (or fans) and your car should now be on the move.

With the car made, it’s now up to you to decide how you want to customize the car. If you want, you could also attach a glider to it to make it fly once you drive it off a cliff or ledge. Alternatively, you could add multiple Zonai Fans to act as speed boosts to get you to your destination quicker.
