If you’ve been having fun making some imaginative constructs using the Ultrahand ability in Tears of the Kingdom, then you’ll be glad to know that Link has one more construction based ability up his sleeves. We are, of course, talking about the Autobuild ability that players can unlock in the game.
If you aren’t sure how to acquire this ability, then you’re at the right place. We’ll be going through how you can unlock this ability as well as what it can be used for.

How Do You Get Autobuild in Tears of the Kingdom
To get Autobuild in Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll have to progress in the ‘A Mystery in the Depths’ quest which will take you to the depths where you’ll get the Autobuild ability. Technically it’s possible to simply head over to the location where you get this ability, but we highly recommend following along with the quest to make things easier for yourself.
While the Autobuild ability is indeed linked with Link’s arm, you have to go a little out of your way to get this one. Around the start of the game, after you meet Purah, you talk to Robbie to get the Camera Work in the Depths mission. This mission will have you go to the Depths, and get comfortable with the various mechanics related to it.
After you’ve completed this specific mission and some more time passes, Joshua will eventually have a second quest for you to complete related to the depths. This quest will be named ‘A Mystery in the Depths’, and will have you go into the Great Abandoned Central Mine. Simply follow the directions given to you in the map, and you’ll eventually find yourself there in no time.
Once inside the Great Abandoned Central Mine, you’ll find a researcher and a Steward Construct. You’ll also get a little something called the Autobuild ability which you’ll have to use straight away to build two vehicles. You can use the Ultrahand ability for the first one, and then the Autobuild ability’s automatic feature to mimic the first construct automatically.

What Does the Autobuild Ability Do
As the name suggests, the Autobuild ability builds, well, automatically. This is the final ability you get and the only one that you don’t unlock in the Great Sky Island, because of which many players might end up missing it.
When activated, the Autobuild ability automatically constructs objects or devices by using the material that’s near you. Think of it as an easier to use Ultrahand ability without all the freedom of creating whatever you want.
Now, there are two ways this ability works. The first way is building constructs via schematics. Schema Stones, which are essentially blueprints that can be found across Hyrule from quests, exploration, and other means, can be used to always construct the same thing, in the same way, every time.
The other way to use this ability is by using the history feature. When you create something using Ultrahand, Autobuild will save that construct. Using this feature, you can build something you’ve already built in the past quicker.
