Everyone loves updates in the gaming world. That’s usually how we get new content, balance changes, and bug fixes. On the topic of new content, Wuthering Waves is about to get some new characters, both in update 1.2 and update 1.3. We all know how WuWe community loves its characters so it was not unexpected that a pair of upcoming characters have divided the community. We are, of course, talking about Zhezhi and The Shorekeeper.
Two Awesome Characters Are on the Way
Both The Shorekeeper and Zhezhi are 5-star characters, so getting any of them will not be that easy. For starters, Zhezhi will be released in Update 1.2 (expected to go live on August 15). She’s officially described as: “Zhezhi is a commissioned painter, quiet and shy with a dedication to her craft. She’s not very eloquent, but her persistence and love for painting speak volumes.”
On the other hand, The Shorekeeper has been recently announced as a banner character for Update 1.3 (official release date still unknown, expected to be somewhere near the end of September). She is described as: “The Shorekeeper of the Black Shores, a mysterious divine being governing the essence of aloofness, emerges in response to your summon. Having spent eons in guardianship, the first stirrings of emotion and desire awaken within her heart, fostering a firm determination to connect with the world — and with you”
Fans Can’t Decide Who They Like More
Both characters are amazing. When asked on one Reddit thread which character they’re planning to get, the community is divided, with the majority slightly leaning more towards The Shorekeeper.
For Zhezhi, you get comments like “I like zhezhi design more, she looks adorable” from TecoTek and “Going for the painter girl, I already prefarmed her mats and echoes and I can get her on day one after losing the 50/50 on Changli“ from kunafa_aj.
On the other hand, The Shorekeeper has grabbed a bit more attention. User gyudon88 states: “The Shorekeeper simply cuz I like her design more lol”. Other agree with comments like “The Shorekeeper absolutely. Love her design so much!” and “Shorekeeper. She has better lore relevance.“
Finally, a lot of comments simply state “both” and we couldn’t agree more. Thankfully, you can get both of them (with some luck), so there is no need to only pick one. But, seeing as Zhezhi is more of a dps-type, and The Shorekeepr is expected to be a healer, the choice will probably boil down to whichever character is more useful in your party. That, and the fact that we’ll have more than a month between their respective releases gives us enough time to get Zhezhi before we focus on The Shorekeeper.
