It has been a very long summer for The Finals community, as players are desperate for some new content. Aside from an unsatisfying patch here and there, not much has happened in Season 3 of the game. Now, some of The Finals players insist the lack of new content is killing the game.

The Lack of New Content Might Drive the Players Away

Many players are counting the days since the last big update. One of the players among them, lostpasts, took to Reddit to ask for some changes. They noted: “50 days with no events or content updates is kinda wild. I’m personally still enjoying playing (Quick Cash literally never gets old), but I really don’t see how a live service game can survive in 2024 like this”.

According to this player’s calculations, there are 55 days left until the start of Season 4. The question on everyone’s mind is whether the game will get some new content before the new Season starts. CaterpillarReal7583 would settle for anything at this point. They stated: “I don’t need cosmetic rewards, I just want something. Goofy game modes, lore, anything, man”.

Players recalled that up until Season 3, there was a new event every 4 weeks or so. They raved about some of the events, like Christmas, Valentine’s, and Steal the Spotlight. Not to be overlooked, there were also launches of Power Shift and Terminal Attack.

JosueTheWall suggested: “We need more content for sure. Here’s an idea: Mid-season updates should include new weapons and gadgets, basically a mini-season update. Doesn’t have to be huge. Maybe even new map variations”. Other players explained they would settle for even less than that, anything to make the game less stale.

Lots of players hope that this summer lull means that the devs are working on Season 4 and it will be the greatest Season so far. One player, methjak, said: “Yeah, this season is brutal. One can only hope (and I certainly do hope) that the reason why is that Embark is gearing up for an absolutely titanic Season 4 launch, especially with a new COD on the horizon”.

Some of The Finals Fans Enjoy the Game Nonetheless

Of course, there are still lots of understanding players who are aware that making new content takes time, especially during the summer. Let’s remember that the developers are also human and they do need to take a break now and then. One player, justontheinternet47, stated: “I thought the lack of updates and events was due to the fact that they were on vacation”.

LavosYT noted: “Back in my day we just played games because they were fun. That’s what I’m doing and it’s fine. The devs will come back, making and releasing content takes time, more than you think most likely”.

In our experience, that’s usually the case, especially after a long break such as this one. We’ve seen games surviving for months without an update, and then receiving a major rework. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait that long for The Finals devs to fix the lack of new content. Until then, try to enjoy the game as it is, and see you out there.
