The First Descendant Best Kyle Build

The First Descendant Kyle showing magnetic powers

Kyle is another great Tank, who utilizes Magnetic Force to power his abilities. While Ajax is more about protecting the team with shields, Kyle is more about taking the damage himself. He has a very interesting playstyle and when you get the hang of it, coupled with a great build, you’ll be unstoppable. So, on that last note, let’s see what is the best build for Kyle in The First Descendant.

Kyle Skills

  • Experienced Technician (Passive) – Kyle acquires Magnetic Force through skills. When his shield is completely depleted, he recovers shield and Magnetic Force over a certain period of time.
  • Repulsion Dash – Dashes towards enemies, dealing damage and recovering Magnetic Force.
  • Magnetic Bulwark – Creates a frontal Barrier to protect against enemy attacks. Recovers Magnetic Force depending on the type of projectile blocked.
  • Magnetism Spurt – When damaged, Magnetic Force is reduced instead of HP or Shields. After a certain period of time, Magnetic Force detonates to deal damage around him.
  • Superconductivity Thrusters – Allows him to fly. When landing, deals damage in an area around his landing zone, consuming all accumulated Magnetic Force. The damage dealt is proportional to the amount of Magnetic Force consumed.

Best Kyle Build

Kyle is all about Skill Power and Shields, so those are the main focus of this build. He does not use MP at all, so we throw that out of the way. Using the “meta” weapons is a tried-and-true way to go for Kyle, since he’s more about using his Skills to damage and disrupt, than about any particular weapon combination. Read on to see the best items for Kyle for each equipment category: Weapon (and Weapon Modules), Descendant Modules, Reactor, and External Components.

Best Weapon for Kyle in The First Descendant

Kyle does not rely on one particular weapon to do his work. He’s a “Non-Attribute” Descendant, so he won’t benefit from those weapons that help out with “elemental” damage. Going with the “meta” build is recommended for Kyle since you can do no wrong with it. So, the first weapon for Kyle should be the Thunder Cage Submachine Gun, due to its ability to clear out groups of weaker enemies with ease. Add the fact that this is a weapon predominantly for close-quarters combat, in which Kyle excels.

Nazeistra’s Devotion is the go-to secondary weapon for most Descendants. Hitting the Weak Spot will reduce the target’s DEF for a couple of seconds, which translates to a damage buff for the whole team. For the third weapon, you can’t go wrong with the Afterglow Sword. This Sniper is particularly good versus Commanders and Colossi, and since those are the best targets for Snipers anyway, this gun is an obvious choice.

Weapon Modules

The best weapon modules for all of these weapons are those that improve ATK generally, Critical Hit damage, Critical Hit Rate, and Fire Rate. Kyle does not use any special mechanics with his weapons, so the best Weapon Modules for him are:

Weapon ModuleEffect
Rifling ReinforcementImproves weapon’s ATK
Better InsightImproves weapon’s Critical Hit Rate
Better ConcentrationImproves weapon’s Critical Hit damage
Fire Rate UpImproves weapon’s Fire Rate
MarksmanImproves weapon’s ATK and Critical Hit Rate

Additionally, you should look out for “elemental” Enhancement Modules. There is one for each damage type (Toxic Enhancement, Chill Enhancement, Electric Enhancement, and Fire Enhancement) and they add that type of ATK to the weapon’s ATK. Each Colossus has a type they are vulnerable to. So, before a Void Intercept Battle, check what damage type the Colossus is vulnerable to, and apply the corresponding Enhancement Module.

Descendant Modules

Kyle uses his Skills a lot, so Descendant Modules that improve them are a must. Furthermore, he does not use any MP, so any Module that improves some aspect at the cost of MP is a safe bet for Kyle. Additionally, he’s a Tank that relies on his Shields to power his abilities, so we need some buffs to HP, DEF, and especially Shields.

The best Descendant Modules for Kyle are:

Descendant ModuleEffect
Increased HPIncreases Max HP
Increased DEFIncreases DEF
Increased ShieldIncreases Max Shield
Nimble FingersReduces Skill Cooldown
Skill SimplificationIncreases Skill Power;
Reduces Max MP
Tech MasterIncreases Tech Skill Power
Amplification ControlIncreases Max Shield and Skill Effect Range
Spear and ShieldIncreases DEF and Skill Power

Reactor

Kyle is a Skill-dependant Descendant, so the right Reactor is mandatory. All of his skills have the Non-Attribute type, so we need a Reactor with “Materialized” in its name since Materialized Reactors boost Non-Attribute Skills.

Next, for the subtypes, Kyle’s Skills are either the Dimension (Magnetic Bulwark and Magnetic Spurt) or Tech (Repulsion Dash and Superconductivity Thrusters) So, we need Reactors that either have Phase (for Dimension) or Mechanics (for Tech) in their title.

To conclude, the best Reactors for Kyle are either a Materialized Phase Reactor or a Materialized Mechanics Reactor, depending on whether you want to buff up your shields and AoE (Phase) or your single-target damage (Mechanics).

External Components

Lastly, External Components are another way for Kyle to buff up his Shields, and other defensive stats. So naturally, you should be looking for the Components that provide the highest Shield buff. They are all pretty random, so a bit of luck is required.

The best External Components for Kyle are those that improve Max Shields, HP Recovery, Max HP, and DEF.

Kyle is arguably the tankiest character in the game. Furthermore, with the right build, he can deal absolutely massive amounts of AoE damage with his Magnetic Sprout Skill. Pair him up with a single-target damage-dealer like Freyna or Gley, and you’ll have an unstoppable duo.
