New Crosshair Options Grant The Finals Devs Well-Earned Praise

On August 21, the Embark Community Lead announced the new update had dropped. Fans worldwide excitedly looked through the patch notes. Many players were disappointed by new nerfs to the Heavy build, but even that was overshadowed by the joy they felt when they found out about a major improvement. Apparently, The Finals players now have more options to customize crosshair, a fact that made the community put the devs on a pedestal.

Latest Patch Added More Crosshair Options to The Finals

The Discord announcement casually mentioned the exciting changes. It stated: “Today we’re bringing further cashout experimentation with the Defender bonus, extended crosshair customization, balance changes, and making the Emerald Grind shorter”. Even in the official patch notes this change was literally the last one on the list. The patch notes simply read: “Added more crosshair customization options”.

If you are a relatively new player, you might be wondering what the big deal is. Well, some players have been asking for the crosshair customization since day one. One player, d_e_s_u_k_a, noted: “I’ve been trying to do this since launch and just settled for no crosshair at all, might turn it back on now if I can get just the dot”.

Another player, Nickbro1o1, tried out all the options and reported back to the community. This player explained how your crosshair could be just a dot now. They said: “The crosshair consists of 3 parts now: The dot, dynamic dashes (or circle) and static dashes (or circle). Just disable the dynamic and static parts and you’re left with a dot. It should be the first option in each section”.

Of course, some players, like Inkios, hope for even more improvements in the future. This player stated: “If only they made the entire crosshair actually static where it doesn’t move around as you move. I don’t understand the purpose of the drifting crosshair. It’s a competitive shooter… your crosshair or dot should be static in the center of your screen at all times”.

The Final Community Appreciates the Devs

Most of The Finals players agreed that this was a great step in the right direction when it comes to crosshair options, so the devs deserved lots of praise, as crosshair optimization could now be taken off the wishlist for Season 4. We wish other communities were as vocal when it came to giving recognition for good changes. Usually, the communities only mention the devs when they complain about a bad patch.

South-Astronaut-5868 noted: “Just a quick shoutout to the devs! You guys are definitely listening to your players and I know a lot of us appreciate it! For those of you who don’t go through patch notes, they fixed some of the things that people have been whining about”.

We can’t wait to take the time and go through all of the crosshair options, it might take a while. Although truth be told, we’ll probably settle on the dot, as the majority of players. How about you, have you tried all the options already? Which one is your favorite?
