PlayStation didn’t bring too much new to the table with their 2023 showcase, but the biggest announcement was the impending release of Spider-Man 2. When is the Spider-Man 2 Release Date?
There is no set release date yet, but the estimated release window Sony gave was sometime in late 2023.
Given the time of year and standard industry release practices, it would be a fair assumption to say that Spider-Man 2 will come out during the holiday season of 2023. The previous title in the series, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, came out in November of 2020, and it would make sense for Spider-Man 2 to follow its lead.
What is Spider-Man 2 About?
The game will be a direct sequel to Spider-Man: Miles Morales, once again following Miles Morales and Peter Parker as our titular Spider-Men. New York City is threatened by Kraven the Hunter, a classic Spider-Man villain. Peter Parker is also under the effects of the symbiote suit, trying to fight off Venom while also defending New York City. Miles Morales must help his mentor overcome the effects of the symbiote suit, while also taking the lead in the city’s defense again Kraven.
The gameplay shown in the trailer had more of the web-slinging, city-traversing goodness that the previous title had, while also showing us some of the powerful abilities conferred by the symbiote suit. We’ll have to wait for more information on any further mechanics, but fans can rest assured that the game seeks to have the same polish and feel as the previous titles in the series.
