Want to learn how to evolve Feebas into Milotic in the Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? Stick around. We’ll cover everything you need to know, from Pokémon locations to evolution items.
Feebas is one of the rarest spawns in the new Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This comes as no surprise, considering this elusive Water-type has proven tough to find since it was first introduced in Generation III. That said, its evolution, Milotic, remains a particularly sought after Pokémon. If you want to add both monsters to your Kitakami Pokédex, you’ll have to put in some work. Here’s what you need to do to evolve your Feebas in The Teal Mask.
- Only one code for a Hisuian Zoroark can be used in either the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. Upon purchase of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, an email with your code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account. From the in-game menu, go to the Poké Portal, then select Mystery Gift, select Get with Code/Password, and then enter your code.
- The Mystery Gift option can be found within the Poké Portal menu option in the X menu after you unlock the feature in the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. (This occurs after about 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay, though individual gameplay time may vary.) An internet connection and a Nintendo Account is required to redeem the item in game. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Each item can only be redeemed once.
How to Evolve Feebas into Milotic in The Teal Mask DLC
You can evolve your Feebas into Milotic by trading your Pokémon while it’s holding the Prism Scale. This is the modern evolution method for Feebas since the removal of Pokémon Contests in more resent entries. In previous titles, the homely Water-type would evolve once its Beauty rating was maxed out. This was accomplished by feeding your Pokémon Poké Blocks or Poffins. That said, this method is now null, leaving just one option.
While trade evolutions can be tricky, you might have some luck finding a suitable trade partner in game forums. Communities often set up trade codes to ensure that you can trade your Pokémon with like-minded players. Just be sure to equip your Feebas with the Prism Scale before setting up a trade.
Where to Find Feebas in The Teal Mask DLC
Feebas has a bit of a reputation for being one of the hardest Pokémon to catch. This hasn’t changed in the Teal Mask DLC. To find and catch this Water-type, you’ll first need to head over to the Crystal Pool on the Oni Mountain Summit, highlighted on the map above.
There, you’ll find the entrance to a cave system. This leads to the only location in which Feebas is found. Follow these steps to orient yourself on the path there.
- From the entrance to the Crystal Pool area, go left across the bridge and head in the direction of the Tera Raid den in the distance.
- You’ll find yourself standing next to a slight incline on your right.
- Rather than climbing the slope, follow its base around the back.
- You’ll stumble upon the entrance to a cave system in its side.
- Head in and descend to the bottom of the system.
- At the bottom, follow the lit tunnel to a pool of water.
- This is where you’ll find Feebas. Surf around on Koraidon or Miraidon until one spawns.
Once you encounter a Feebas, you’ll need to be careful not to knock it out. I recommend using the move False Swipe to ensure the Pokémon is left with at least 1 HP. Use either a Dive Ball or Net Ball to increase your catch rate.
Where to Find Milotic in The Teal Mask DLC
There’s a way to obtain Milotic without evolving Feebas. You can find the powerful evolution in its Terastallized form at the Tera Raid den across the Crystal Pool. Be sure to enter with strong Pokémon to better your chances of defeating it. Once you’ve managed to deplete its health bar, your catch will be secured.
How to Get the Prism Scale in The Teal Mask DLC
You’ll find a Prism Scale inside a Poké Ball on a small beach in Fellhorn Gorge, pinpointed on the above map. You’ll need to do some careful maneuvering to avoid all the wild Pokémon in this area. That said, you should be able to find the spot wedged between the mountainside and another peak.
If you don’t want to go through the trouble of finding the evolution item here, you can also receive a Prism Scale as a reward for registering at least 140 Pokémon in your Kitakami Pokédex. Ultimately, this will allow you to evolve your Feebas and help you catch Bloodmoon Ursaluna in the long run.
