Not only has this made playing the FPS all the more difficult, but it’s also affected player satisfaction. Unfortunately, this is largely reflected in the game’s current numbers.

What is the Player Count for Payday 3?
At its peak, Payday 3 netted nearly 70,000 players, according to Steam Charts. However, its daily average pales in comparison, resting at almost 30,000. Garnering less than half of its peak player base on a typical day, the game doesn’t boast the most consistent numbers. That said, it’s certainly not the worst count for its genre and niche.
How Popular is Payday 3?
All things considered, Payday 3 is decently popular for a game of its magnitude, especially considering the influx of bugs and negative reviews it’s received. While it would be unfair to compare the FPS to vastly different games like Baldur’s Gate 3 or the PC exclusive Counter-Strike 2, Payday 3 has managed to maintain a player base much larger than other competitors.
For comparison, Gun Interactive’s Texas Chain Saw Massacre saw an all-time high of just over 17,000 players. The horror title didn’t receive the same amount of hype prior to its release, but its online gameplay and availability across platforms has made the game largely accessible. Despite these similarities, Payday 3 has outperformed TCSM and other recent titles.
