Well into the game’s early access period, Payday 3 players are learning the ins and outs of what makes a successful heist. Longtime fans of Deep Silver’s franchise have a leg up with years of gaming experience under their belt. How to Create a Private Lobby in Payday 3
Starbreeze Studios designed Payday 3 to play out in a co-op game mode. However, public matchmaking can be an iffy method to recruit team members, as you’ll likely get paired up with players of varying skill levels. Not to mention, matchmaking bugs continue to frustrate players. If you’d rather team up with your friends or take on a heist solo in Payday 3, follow these steps to create a private lobby.
- Go onto the home screen.
- Select the heist you want to take on.
- Choose your difficulty level.
- You’ll see an arrow that reads Lobby Type Public.
- Change your Lobby type to either Friends Only or Invite Only.
Once you’ve set up the private lobby, you won’t see any number of random players in missions. If you choose Invite Only, you can also elect to play solo rather than with your crew.
Moreover, you should be aware that you’ll need four players to start a mission in Friends Only. If this requirement isn’t met, you’ll be set up with default bot players to fill the missing roles. Luckily, you can easily invite friends from your friends list.
Note: The BOT will not affect your tactics and may come in handy during your heists. Depending on the skill of your team and your personal preferences, playing with bots won’t necessarily make or break your next heist. Just don’t be surprised when an additional team member shows up to the big gig.
What is a Private Lobby in Payday 3?
A private lobby allows you to organize your group of friends, select heists, and take on missions as a team. In a private lobby, you can choose who joins your squad. This stops you from being placed into matchmaking, where you will be heisting with the general public.
