Among other things that are introduced to Palworld in the Sakurajima update is a new resource, Crude Oil. Currently, the only place to find Crude Oil is on Sakurajima Island, indicated by black patches on the ground. Luckily, every patch of Crude Oil field is surrounded by a small clearing that will provide a perfect location for everything needed to mine this resource.
How to Get Crude Oil in Palworld
To get Crude Oil players have to build a small base around an Oil Extractor, which is needed for its mining. However, to unlock a Crude Oil Extractor, you have to be level 50 and spend two Technology Points. Additionally, building one is very resource-heavy and requires 250x Pal Metal Ingots and 50x Circuit Boards. Moreover, the Extractor needs electricity to function, but not just any source will suffice. A Large Generator is needed to power the Extractor, and you will need at least tier-three electrical Pals for it to work. Once the Oil Extractor is built and operational, it will slowly start to produce Crude Oil.
In addition to using an Oil Extractor to mine Crude Oil, players can also loot this resource. This resource can be found in Supply Drops, and it can be looted from defeated Kikits, although in smaller quantities. Crude Oil can also be found in the newest stronghold in the game, an Oil Rig. This is the biggest and hardest stronghold to beat, and it is located southeast of Marsh Island.
How to Make Plasteel in Palworld
Along with Crude Oil, Plasteel is the new end-game material added with the release of the Sakurajima update. Moreover, Plasteel is the key ingredient for all end-game weapons, armor, and technologies, so players will have to get a lot of it. Sadly, there is only one way to get Plasteel in Palworld, and that is to craft it yourself.
To make Plasteel in Palworld, players need to have a functioning Electric Furnace in their base. Once you have it running, you can create Plasteel using the following materials:
- 5x Crude Oil
- 5x Paladium Fragment
- 10x Ore
Only Crude Oil requires extra effort and work to acquire, the other two are much more easily obtained. However, getting started with oil production as soon as possible will be a good idea if you want to unlock all the end-game goodies.
