It seems that not a single online game can have an official release without some errors. Let’s see how to fix Error Code LE-61 “Failed to Matchmake” in Last Epoch.

Last Epoch is a hack-and-slash action RPG developed and published by Eleventh Hour Games. It already has great reviews, but, as is tradition with online games, no release can happen without some errors and server issues. Error Code LE-61 is the culprit, can something be done about it? Read on to see how to fix Error Code LE-61 “Failed to Matchmake” in Last Epoch.

How to Fix Error Code LE-61 “Failed to Matchmake” in Last Epoch

There are a couple of methods you can try to bypass the “Failed to Matchmake” issue. The community has offered the following workarounds. So, try:

  • Flushing the DNS cache – most gamers claim that flushing the DNS resolver cache will solve this issue. To do so type Command Prompt in your Windows search bar, right-click on it, and select Open as Administrator. Type “ipconfig /flushdns” in the command prompt, press Enter, and try logging in again.
  • Joining a friend’s game– if you have a friend who is already in the game, try joining him. By joining an existing game you can bypass potential issues.
  • Playing offline – not a fix but if you play offline, you won’t suffer any server issues. The bad part with this method is that offline and online characters are completely separate, ie, you can use the same character for both. To access offline mode, right-click on Last Epoch in your Steam Library and choose Properties. Under the General tab, you’ll see Launch Options. Click on the drop-down menu and choose Play Full Offline.
  • Waiting it out – as always, server issues are fixed by the devs. If the servers are indeed full, there is not much you can do besides waiting it out (or playing offline).

What Is Error Code LE-61 “Failed to Matchmake”?

Error Code LE-61 “Failed to Matchmake” means that servers are overloaded by the influx of players and that causes instability, crashes, or prevents new players from joining. The devs are aware of the issue and have stated: “LE-61s are spiking and servers are offline but we’ll be able to rectify this more quickly than before – The backend team is making improvements that will improve stabilization tonight…” We just have to be patient and the developers will fix this issue in no time.
