Should I Buy The MK1 Kollector’s Edition?
The Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition is only for players who really want to love the game enough to show it off in their home. The only exclusive in-game item over the other versions is a Liu Kang skin, but that is not worth the extra $140 than getting the Premium Edition. Most players should stick to the Premium Edition to get everything in the game without breaking the bank.
What Is Included in the Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition?
The Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition is the definitive package of the game over the Standard and Premium Editions, though will not be available for all platforms. It will only be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while PC and Nintendo Switch players will have to choose a different edition.
The Kollector’s Edition is a physical-only package sold at GameStop and Target, and will cost $249.99. The Kollector’s Edition will include:
- Standard Edition Content: This includes the base game and pre-order bonuses, such as the playable Shang Tsung character and access to the pre-order beta (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only).
- Early Access: The Premium Edition will give five days of early access before the official release date, so players will be able to start playing on September 14, 2023.
- Kombat Pack: This add-on pack contains a Jean-Claude Van Damme-theme skin for Johnny Cage at launch, early access to six new playable characters, and five new Kameo Fighters post-launch.
- 2,700 Dragon Krystals: The in-game currency used to unlock cosmetic items and other customizable options.
- Liu Kang Sculpture: A physical statue of Liu Kang designed by COARSE standing at 16.5 inches tall with glow-in-the-dark details.
- Liu Kang In-Game Skin: An exclusive color variant inspired by the statue.
