Mortal Kombat is set to return later this year with Mortal Kombat 1, a reboot of the universe that aims to give some better narrative legs to the series while still giving players the same if not more violent, gory, and skill-based gameplay as before.
The game was announced to be available on all current-gen consoles, as well as PC, meaning many players will be able to jump into the action. However, with all these different possible console choices, the question arises; will there be crossplay for Mortal Kombat 1?

It seems that crossplay is in the works for Mortal Kombat 1, but the feature won’t be available until some time post–launch. There is no further mention of an exact release date for crossplay, meaning players may have to wait for a future announcement.
It is unknown why this information was removed from the FAQ. This info may be subject to change, or maybe Warner Bros. Games didn’t want to advertise that the game would ship without this feature. Whatever the case, fans will eventually be able to duel their friends on other consoles, just not at release.
