Helldivers 2 Players Hope the New Stratagem Will Survive the Major Order

There still hasn’t been any news about a new Warbond, and the community is getting antsy. It’s been a while since the Helldivers received a new weapon. There is a grand need for novelty in the game, as the already existing arsenal starts to feel a bit stale. Now, the Helldivers 2 players have an opportunity to secure themselves an amazing new stratagem if only they manage to complete the current Major Order.

A Strategic Update Gives the Players a New Stratagem

As you know, the current MO has the players liberating and defending X-45. At first, the players deemed it an easy win and liberated the planet in the first 12 hours of a week-long MO. They even agreed on cutting the Supply Lines by liberating Meissa. Well, the devs decided to spice it up a little bit and make this MO a real challenge. The first Strategic Update teased a new weapon, and it’s finally here.

On June 7, another Strategic Update revealed: “Excavation of the Advanced Weapons Lab on X-45 have recovered an intact cache of a lost Support Weapon from the First Galactic War: the MLS-4X Commando Rocket Launcher. These weapons will be immediately put to use in defense of the planet. All operations in defense of X-45 will be augmented with the MLS-4X Commando until the end of the current Order”.

As expected, players’ initial reactions to MLS-4X Commando Rocket Launcher didn’t disappoint. BubbleSlapper raved: “Perfect “oh s**t” buddy for the Recoilless Rocket Launcher on the defense missions. Needs a bit more polish on the discard mechanics as I can still pick up empty Launchers if the gun is meant to be disposable like the EATs. Tracking works. Overall 9/10″.

Another player, 15jthomson, added: “I love it, with one significant peeve. I hate that it can’t one-shot Devastators; wasting two rockets to kill a Devastator feels awful. And yes, like an EAT, I understand the argument that some people will use that it’s a waste to use a rocket on one. But if I want/need to use one in a pinch, I really feel like it needs to one tap them”.

New Helldivers 2 Stratagem Might Depend on the Major Order Win

Of course, one very important question arose: Will this Stratagem be available even after the MO? Well, unfortunately, we don’t have an answer to that question just yet. We suppose it will be if the Major Order is completed. At the time of writing this article, there is less than 24 hours left and the players are still standing their ground. They have liberated X-45.

Dedicated Helldivers 2 players are sure that they will get this Stratagem at some point. Hasselpooof stated: “They did the same with the Mechs and the Air Burst Launcher, we got it for free right before the MO was over, and right after we were able to buy it”. Wanderer_308 confirmed: “Pretty sure it will be like with Airburst Launcher, i.e. if we win MO then Commando will be added to Stratagem pool to unlock”.

We sure hope so, the MLS-4X Commando Rocket Launcher feels fantastic. It’s like having 4 EATs at your disposal. Helldivers 2 players will finish this Major Order very soon and we’ll know if this new Stratagem will be available. Hopefully – it will.
