The community is currently celebrating another victory over those pesky Automatons on X-45. Well, aside from spreading democracy, the players managed to recover a Stratagem leftover from the First Galactic War. Joel decided that the Helldivers 2 players deserved to be able to buy the new Stratagem now that they won the Major Order.
Completing the Major Order Resulted in a New Stratagem
The victory over the bots was pronounced in a briefing. It stated: “Thanks to the valiant defense of X-45, the plans for the interplanetary battle station have been received. Work completing this research will commence shortly. Completion of a project of this size will take a long time but the full potential of the station has been made possible by today’s victory”.
It continued: “The fate of X-45 itself remains unclear. But with the plans recovered, the research station has been destroyed. The Automatons will find nothing there but lightly irradiated ash. Furthermore, remaining MLS-4X Commandos have been successfully shipped off-planet, enabling rapid production of the weapon. It will shortly be available for requisition fleetwide”.
Such wonderful news! The Helldivers worked overtime on this week-long Major Order and they do deserve a special treat. And, what a treat it is. You can already find the MLS-4X Commando waiting for you to buy it in the Stratagems tab. Many players expected it to be added a little bit later, maybe after the next Major Order, but the developers surprised everyone once again.
The Helldivers 2 Community is Head Over Heals for the Commando Stratagem
While all Helldivers 2 players are excited about the Major Order win, only some actually got to test out the new Stratagem, the affectionately called Commando. It was only available on X-45 during defensive missions, so the players who missed out on those will finally get a chance to test it out.
Weird_Excuse8083 noted: “As an RR and SPEAR main, the Commando was so damn fun. I’m extremely excited to take it towards the liberation of other worlds. It lacks a bit of the oomph of those two weapons, but the sheer amount of fire you can put down range and the negligible cooldown (and free backpack slot for my Dog, for example) makes it extremely build-flexible, which is a big plus against Bots”.
Other players also chirped in, wishing for a new opportunity to fight the bots. DestroyerMedic reported: “This MO feels like 1 step forward and 2 steps back for the bot front tbh. Yeah, we did complete it but we lost Aesir Pass, Vernen Wells, and we are in the process of losing Vega Bay too”. Another player, rodrigat, added: “Hoping the next MO is bots too. We have some work to do and I’m all for it”.
Not to complain, but we haven’t had a chance to try out the Commando, and we do love fighting the bots, so let’s hope the next Major Order will give us the chance to do both. Although, the bugs deserve some attention as well. We don’t mind, as long as we’re spreading democracy. Have you had a chance to try out the new Stratagem? Do you like it?
