Finally, the long-anticipated missile launcher from the movie Commando is here. The fans have been waiting for it for some time, with the developers teasing its release for weeks now. And now, with the defense of X-45 done, Super Earth’s scientists have uncovered a new weapon. Aptly named MLS-4X Commando, it shoots four laser-guided missiles. So, let’s see how it works. Keep reading to see how to get and use the MLS-4X Commanod in Helldivers 2.
How to Get Laser Cannon in Helldivers 2
Commando is a Support Weapon Stratagem, and like all the others, you first have to unlock it. It released on July 9, so head on to your Ship Management terminal, navigate to the Stratagems tab, and you will find the Commando the first subheading, the Patriotic Administration Center. It costs 8.000 Requisition to unlock, while the minimum Level is still unknown.
Helldivers 2: How to Use the MLS-4X Commando
First of all. you have to call it down from your Destroyer ship, just like every other Support Weapon. The Stratagem Code for Commando is Down, Left, Up, Down, Right. Throw the Stratagem beacon wherever you want it to land and in about seven seconds (or zero, if you unlocked one of the new Level 5 Ship Upgrades) a Hellpod with a shiny new Commando missile launcher will drop.
As you’d expect, you can shoot it up to four times before discarding it. There is no reloading the Commando, it is basically four EATs tied together. The main feature of this weapon is that it is laser-guided. When you press the Aim button, you will see a laser pointer in place of your crosshair. When you shoot the weapon, the missile will follow wherever your laser is pointing. That gives you increased accuracy and will most certainly prevent cases where you miss the target by a hair’s breadth.
It deals around the same amount of damage as the EAT, but has almost the double cooldown time, compared to it. As for weapon options, you can only turn the laser guidance on or off (making it just like the regular EAT). This can be useful if you have no time to move the laser around, or if the target is huge and pretty close, so missing it is highly unlikely.
Will the Commando replace the Expendable Anti Tank? Unlikely, they both serve the same purpose in general, only their methods vary slightly. EAT is for those players who like to deal with a Heavy target quickly and move back to their other Support Weapon, while the Commando follows similar principles, but it is all in the hands of one player. Time will tell how these weapons will compare to each other down the line.
